Giga Chikadze is one of the fastest-rising names in the UFC right now. The Georgian mixed martial artist has seen his stock rise over his last three fights and will return to action soon.
The number 8 ranked featherweight recently took to Twitter to call out Jose Aldo. The former king of the featherweight division, Aldo put up a dominant performance at UFC Vegas 44. He took on a fellow top 5 bantamweight Rob Font in the main-event and easily dispatched his challenge. The performance seemed to get the attention of Chikadze. Aldo won the fight via a unanimous decision and is looking to fight TJ Dillashaw next.
In his tweet, he wrote, “Let’s go Aldo #ufcvegas44.”

Aldo, at one time, was the UFC featherweight champion and was also the first-ever featherweight champion of the UFC. He defended his title seven times before dropping it. The Brazilian switched to the bantamweight division in 2019 and is currently on a three-fight win streak. Chikadze would love to replicate that kind of success in his career.

Chikadze had defeated UFC veterans Barboza and Cub Swanson in his last two fights. And has also won the ‘Performance of the Night’ bonuses in his last three. He will enter the octagon again at UFC Fight Night 200 to take on Calvin Kattar. Kattar is ranked number 5 and will look to put the loss against Max Holloway behind him.
It is a fight everyone is excited about and is sure to be a banger. A win here for either of them will get them a top 3 fighter in their next fight. Chikadze will look to benefit from the fact that Kattar is coming off a dominant loss in his last fight.
