Jorge Masvidal Weighs In on Ring Girl Once Changing Into a ‘Longer Skirt’ After Khabib’s Demand

Jorge ‘Gamebred’ Masvidal is one of the biggest superstars on the current UFC roster. The holder of the BMF belt is currently on a hiatus after he suffered a defeat against Colby ‘Chaos’ Covington. Masvidal vowed to improve his wrestling after coming up short in the grappling exchanges against Covington and is getting ready for his return.

While UFC fans are waiting for news on the BMF’s return, Masvidal shared an interesting post on Facebook. He posted an old article about an incident involving lightweight phenom Khabib Nurmagomedov and a ring girl.

Masvidal shares controversial Khabib Nurmagomedov news

Khabib Nurmagomedov is a devout Muslim. He does not engage in any practice that goes against his religion. Due to this fact, he is not a fan of ring girls and their attire. Recently, Masvidal shared an article on his social media, which detailed an old incident where a ring girl clothed herself because of Khabib Nurmagomedov.

The article dates back to the time Nurmagomedov was the #1 contender in the lightweight division. At an OFS promotion event, a ring girl covered herself up as she did not want to hurt his religious sentiments. The girl Anna Galochkina had this to say about the incident:

“He’s not only the best athlete but the man for me! He’s a pride of Russia and great MMA fighter.Of course, guests of the event were shocked seeing a ring girl putting on a longer skirt so fast. I respect the views and religion of Khabib and I didn’t want him to feel uncomfortable.”

Nurmagomedov has expressed his contempt for ring girls on other occasions. He said they are useless and unnecessary and do not serve any specific purpose. Consequently, other professionals from combat sports slammed him for his comments.

It is unclear why Masvidal shared this old piece of news now. However, it seems to have reminded the fan of Nurmagomedov’s controversial opinions and deeply religious way of life.

Throwback to when Jorge Masvidal offered to fight ‘The Eagle’

During an interview, Masvidal was questioned if he would be down to fight Khabib Nurmagomedov. Masvidal replied, by saying that he would be willing to do it for the right price. Masvidal went up to Welterweight from Lightweight and would only be willing to make the extra weight cut for the right amount of money.

‘Gamebred’ said that he loved the challenge that Nurmagomedov brought. He gave props to ‘The Eagle’ for being undefeated and added that he loved Nurmagomedov’s wrestling skills. Masvidal said that the mere challenge of neutralizing Khabib Nurmagomedov’s wrestling was exciting enough for him to take the bout.
