Jorge Masvidal has no intentions of fighting Michael Chandler

‘Gamebred’ claims that he has no interest in fighting ‘Iron’ Chandler, despite his prestigious name in the MMA scene and his caliber as a fighter. He said, “I am not necessarily too interested in [Michael] Chandler. I know he’s got like a big name in the sport. He puts on great fights …always entertaining and stuff.” Masvidal added, “I am at 170 pounds trying to get a world title. That’s what I’m fighting Gilbert [Burns] for.”

The Miami native mentions that he is more focused on getting a championship match. “I’m not fighting him because he’s the biggest draw, because he’s not. I’m fighting him [Burns] because he’s number 3 or number 4 in the world currently, and he’s gonna get me closer to my goals, which are to fight for the belt,” said Masvidal. He also mentioned that he got into the sport of MMA to either fight the best competitors in the world or earn as much money as he can. Masvidal added, “I don’t know if Chandler brings in that type of money.”
