UFC star Jorge Masvidal recently opened up about his share of problems with USADA while preparing for his grudge fight against friend-turned-foe Colby Covington. The American agency assumed the central stage in the recent past in the MMA community after being engulfed in multiple controversies. Further, the arbitrary testing procedure and the tendency to show up at odd hours only added to the resentment. ‘Gamebred’ experienced discomfort due to the same as he hypothesized: the USADA looked at Americans a lot harder compared to their counterparts. Similarly, he suggested creating a fair procedure for everyone as he laid bare his troubles in the lead-up to UFC 272.
Notably, the 38-year-old sat down with UFC commentator Joe Rogan on JRE MMA Show #137. In one of the segments, the American fighter revealed he got tested 20 times one year and yet had to sacrifice his schedule to the whims and fancies of USADA.

After Rogan cited the case of Alexander Volkanovski, whom USADA woke up at 6 in the morning, the day before the fight, the guest disclosed he faced similar treatment.
The Miami native said, “My last camp, it was the same sh*t. It just doesn’t make sense. They came in Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, between 5:15 and, like, 6:30 in the morning by my f*cking house… And it’s like what? What about my sleep bro?”
The early visits in the morning, as a result, messed up the 35-16 record holder’s schedule and sleeping pattern.
He, later on, expanded on the details. Hence, he recalled, “Like I have a schedule. This is like a week before fight. You guys are just wrecking my sh*t.”
The American Top Team product then expressed it left him with only two choices: either to go back to sleep or stay up, and either case could end up hampering his schedule just days before a major battle. However, as pointed out by Rogan, it came with a distinct set of complications. The famed TV presenter addressed the possibility of getting hurt in training due to fatigue.

Lastly, Masvidal summed up his annoyance as he put forth, “I get it maybe like one time. But they literally showed up 3 times in my crib like that, you know.”
Markedly, the BMF title holder lost the much-awaited fight against ‘Chao’ in March 2022. He is scheduled to square off against Gilbert Burns at UFC 287 on April 8.
