Jorge Masvidal pleads guilty
The outside-the-cage incident between Jorge Masvidal and Colby Covington has finally reached a solution. Masvidal has pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor battery charge. Masvidal, 38, allegedly attacked Covington outside a Miami restaurant in March 2022 a few days after their UFC bout.
The attack resulted in injuries to Covington, including broken teeth and concussion. Masvidal faced up to 15 years in jail, along with a fine of $10,000. However, he maintained his innocence till Monday when the verdict happened. Two felony charges of battery and criminal justice against ‘Gamebred’ have been dropped and he has been sentenced to time served.
The former BMF champion took to social media to announce his victory with his lawyer. Masvidal was all smiles as he said, “Just beat the case. I want to thank God and I also want to thank this man [points to his lawyer] right here ’cause I’m a free f***ing man. F*** you Colby.”

Masvidal also blasted by Covington’s friend and UFC veteran
After the news broke, Masvidal appeared on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Hour show. There, he went on to verbally assault Covington’s friend and UFC star, Chael Sonnen. And Sonnen being who he is, didn’t let the insults fly. He’d bring in Covington’s name along with Masvidal’s as well.
