Jorge Masvidal and his rivalry with Colby Covington is not a piece of unknown news in the world of mixed martial arts. Masvidal allegedly sucker punched ‘Chaos’ outside Papi Steak, in Miami Beach. Immediately, Covington sought out legal aid and filed a charge against ‘Gamebred’. Furthermore, ‘Chaos’ stated that Masvidal chipped off his tooth and claimed to have caused brain damage.

In a recent interview with George Gracie from MMA Junkie, Masvidal had something to say for his rival. Although he couldn’t say too much about the allegations, the bearer of the symbolic BMF belt didn’t falter when he labeled Covington as a coward. Nevertheless, he kept quiet and said nothing more about the incident.

In the latest interview, Masvidal talked a bit about the incident in Miami. Gracie asked, “Remember the stuff you said allegedly, you gotta get through it all or whatever. It’s not done yet?”

As soon as he was asked to talk about the incident, Masvidal said that he wasn’t supposed to talk too much about it, owing to the legal restraints. Although the ‘Gamebred Fighter’ refused to talk about it, he did have something in store for his rival. He said, “But what I can tell you is that there was some cowards claiming brain injury, but this coward was trying to compete not too long ago and sh*t like that, you know.”

Then, Gracie addressed the rumors that Covington was apparently getting a pass in return for the Miami incident getting squashed. Without a doubt, Masvidal kept silent and let the world believe that he didn’t know anything about it.

Brendan Schaub suspects Covington was paid off

The former mixed martial artist, Brendan Schaub, recently addressed the heat between Masvidal and Covington. Undoubtedly, the former fighter found it strange as the heat cooled down pretty quickly. He suspected that the UFC asked ‘Chaos’ to let it go since Masvidal‘s fight with Gilbert Burns was getting closer.

Schaub said, “Maybe the UFC went to him [Covington] ‘Hey, Drop all that stuff. You come back, we’ll give you a title shot. Drop all that bullsh*t because we have Masvidal fight Gilbert Burns.”
