The UFC 272 headliner is one of the most anticipated bouts of the year, as Jorge Masvidal and Colby Covington are finally going to lock horns inside the octagon.

With all the drama surrounding the two being roommates and training partners of each other to becoming rivals. There is a big question, who is Donald Trump’s favorite fighter, and who will Trump cheer for, at UFC 272?

Covington answers these questions in a recent interview with TMZ Sports.

Chaos‘ expressed that the former President will root for him, as Covington has given his platform to support in order to show his loyalty towards Trump. He dismissed Masvidal as a Trump supporter.

Covington said, “Jorge is a fake supporter. He is not a real supporter, you know. He’s just, he’s just another guy on the Republican side…” Covington had some harsh words to say to Masvidal before he revealed why Trump would root for him. “… Donald Trump, you know, I talked to his family the other day, I know where his loyalty resides,” concluded Covington.

Both of them have shown their support towards the former President on numerous occasions. Especially, Covington, who, as he stated, has dedicated his whole platform towards Trump. Covington was the first UFC fighter to visit the White House and meet the President and bring a UFC belt to the White House.

This is a massive fight and has been building for quite some time. The fight is so big that it would headline a PPV card without any championship being on the line. However, this stat becomes more relevant, as the fans get to have two extra rounds for this clash of friends turned foes.

Colby Covington gets a call from the President

The number one ranked welterweight has dominated the UFC’s welterweight division. Many of Covington’s fans might have sent him congratulatory messages over the course of his career. But one that stands over the rest, was when he got a call from Donald Trump, after his win over Tyron Woodley.

Covington shared a rare moment in UFC history when he talked to the President on live television.

For Jorge Masvidal, this fight is more important as he is a PPV draw in the UFC. Not many fighters reach the level of stardom he has. A lopsided loss will derail all the hype around the BMF champion. Thus, he would look to pull off something from his arsenal, as he did against Ben Askren.
