After the phenomenal victory at UFC 285 against Ciryl Gane, Jon Jones has moved ahead and declared his plans to defend his newly acquired heavyweight belt against Stipe Miocic. The current UFC heavyweight champion talked about his bout against Miocic and what exactly was withholding the finalization of the negotiations. Without a doubt, the fighter seemed upset about hearing rumors that he won’t be fighting Miocic in July.

Recently, Jones’ former opponent, Chael Sonnen, took to his YouTube channel and talked about ‘Bones’. Surprisingly, Sonnen praised Jones for not talking about himself and behaving like Conor McGregor. Although the ‘American Gangster’ thought of ‘Bones’ to be a narcissist, he was indeed impressed with the fighter’s act when he went after Miocic.

About a week ago, the former UFC light heavyweight champion took to Twitter and expressed his frustration at Miocic, apparently dodging a fight with him. Although the former mixed martial artist labeled Jones as a “raging narcissist”, he admired the fighter talking about someone other than himself.

Sonnen said, “But for the first time ever, he finally didn’t talk about himself. He talked about something else, he talked about Stipe. He talked about the date, he talked about what was on the line, he talked about what was holding up the negotiation.” Without a doubt, Sonnen found the act to be a great one indeed.

On top of that, Sonnen claimed that Jones’ comments were juxtaposed with that of McGregor. He lifted ‘Bones’ and let him shine in the limelight. He said, “And Jon knows where the bodies are buried. Jon’s got enough information like that. For us, that’s compelling stuff. And I bring that to shine Jon a little bit. But I also use it as a juxtaposition for what Conor does on a daily basis.”

Furthermore, in another tweet, Jones asked ‘The Silencer’ to stop wasting everyone’s time. The seemingly infuriated Jones wrote, “Bro it’s simple, either you believe in yourself or you don’t. Either you want this challenge or you don’t. Stop wasting everyone’s time.” However, Dana White was seemingly unhappy about it.
