After making a ma͏rk in the world of boxing, Francis Ngannou  returned to the MMA cage ͏to͏ face Renan Ferreira at PFL’͏s “Battle of the Giants͏.” This marked Ngannou’s first MMA app͏e͏ar͏an͏ce since re͏linqui͏shi͏ng͏ his UFC hea͏vywei͏ght title. In addition to ͏his comeback, this figh͏t w͏as his tri͏b͏ute to his deceased son͏ Kobe, and wit͏h the name of͏ hi͏m in his mouth, Ng͏a͏nnou cl͏inc͏h͏ed the vic͏to͏r͏y against the͏ 6͏”8 Renan Ferreira by way o͏f a knock͏out. And t͏his͏ comebac͏k victory͏ ͏appear͏s to have even d͏ragged Jon Jones͏ out of ͏hi͏s home͏ ͏to c͏ommen͏t on the vi͏ctory

Francis Ngannou warned Ferreria that he would throw every possible combination to defeat him inside the smart cage, and that’s what he did! He threw the 6″8″ Brazilian monster to the ground and pounded him with his hammer fists. After a barrage of continuous punches, the referee stepped in to declare Ngannou’s victory by knockout. This spectacular victory had Jon Jones praising Ngannou.

Taking to his X handle, the heavyweight champion of the world congratulated Ngannou for his victory, “What an amazing job Francis did tonight, displayed a complete MMA game. Great kicks, great takedowns. It feels good to see him shine. Wow congratulations Champ, I see you.”  Jon Jones’ congratulatory message seemed heartfelt and contained no challenge for Ngannou, but a curious fan commented, “He would smoke you.”

The heavyweight champion said, “Sure, everyone beats me up until they’re in there with me.” Jon Jones and Francis Ngannou’s super fight fell off multiple times when ‘Predator’ was at the promotion, but according to the Cameroon-French fighter, it was not the fault of Jones or him but rather Dana White who halted the matches.
