The founder and CEO of Meta became the center of attention in the fighting community with talks about his slated MMA bout against the CEO of X, Elon Musk surfaced. Needless to say, the entire world was on their feet for the CEOs to battle each other in a bid for supremacy. However, in November 2023, Zuckerberg had an accident while training. He tore his left anterior cruciate ligament. 

This was indeed a setback for the matchup that the fight fans were so excited for. Taking to Instagram, the Meta CEO declared that he would need to undergo surgery in order to replace his torn ligament. ACL injuries are pretty common in the realm of sports that involve sudden stops, changing directions, and especially jumping. But nine months later, Zuckerberg provided the world with an update. He took the time to share his journey through his recovery on Instagram. In the caption, he wrote, “Officially 9 months since ACL surgery. LFG.”

As soon as Zuckerberg dropped the updates about his health, the entire world of mixed martial arts swooped into the comments section to lift his spirits. After all, he was associated with legendary fighters like Israel Adesanya and Alex Pereira. However, the comments section also had words from other big guns like Jon Jones. Jon Jones and others commend Mark Zuckerberg’s recovery and hint at his MMA debut

The UFC heavyweight champion was often spotted together with the Meta CEO. However, the duo were far away from the training grounds as they indulged in virtual reality games. Nevertheless, this time, Jones expressed his delight about Zuckerberg’s recovery video. He commented, “I’m digging the recovery journey, I should make a video like this.” To which, the Meta CEO replied by encouraging Jones and hoping for the fighter’s good recovery. 

Aljamain Sterling wasn’t far behind, and he commended Zuckerberg for hitting the mats once again. He quoted, “Good to see ya back on the mats again!”

‘The Great’, one of the Meta boss’ training partners, expressed his joy at Zuckerberg’s recovery. The Australian wrote, “He’s back!” Bo Nickal also joined his colleagues and claimed that the Meta CEO was “Looking good!” Mike Davis was also one of the many pro-MMA fighters who were amazed by the comeback. He commented, “This is an incredible come back!!”

Lastly, Nina-Marie Daniele, the heartthrob UFC influencer, declared that Zuckerberg was all ready to bounce back onto the training mats. She wrote, “Tell your investors you are ready to get back on the mats! LFG Zuck”

But the talks about Zuckerberg’s expected fight against his rival CEO, Elon Musk, trailed right behind. One of the fight fans wrote, “Enough s**t for today , I want mark vs Elon in the centre of ufc octagon.” Meanwhile, another fan commented, “Is Zuck vs Elon back in works now?” Dana White previously affirmed that he supported the matchup between the CEOs and rumors claimed that the fight would proceed at the Colosseum. Now that Zuckerberg is getting back into the thick of things, the fighting world might witness one of the most anticipated matchups of the decade. 

But some fans asked the Meta boss to raise the stakes. One fan wrote, “Elon vs Zuck 🥊. Let’s goooo. Something that the world has never seen before! ( Facebook and X on stake 😂 makes it even more desirable)”
