‘Bones’ had already taken a long layoff of three years before shifting to the heavyweight division. The 35-year-old fighter seemed adamant to make the shift perfectly in good health. However, he spoke about his future by making a statement after his fight.

The recently crowned UFC heavyweight champion was in a good mood while speaking at the press conference after UFC 285. ‘Bones’ answered a lot of questions as he created history by becoming only the 8th fighter to win championships in 2 divisions.
Moreover, Jones not only achieved his goal of becoming a champion, but also spoke about how much he intends to be in such a position. A reporter asked ‘Bones’ if the thought of retirement ever crossed his mind as he reached the pinnacle of the sport.
The UFC heavyweight champion said, “It is a big victory but I feel like you’re not the champ unless you defend that belt.”
However, the UFC legend also revealed his plan for the heavyweight division. ‘Bones’ continued, “And I got at least one more in me. That’s what I’m gonna give the fans.”
It remains to be seen if Jones adds anything further on the topic. Moreover, he has already planned his next opponent as he looks to truly become a legend in the UFC heavyweight division.
Jon Jones’ next fight against Stipe Miocic might be his last
The UFC champion prepares to fight the former heavyweight champion. According to speculations, the fight would probably take place in July. Although nothing is announced, both the fighters have a gentleman’s agreement inside the octagon. Moreover, according to his interview, Jones looks to beat Miocic and truly become a champion.

Widely regarded as heavyweight ‘GOAT’, Stipe Miocic has other plans for ‘Bones’. The former champion said, “It’s a fight, he won, good for him. Hats off, but unfortunately he’s got to fight me in July”.
In another interview, Miocic added, “I’m going to train my a*s off and I’m going to beat that a**.” Miocic looks in no mood to mess around as he looks to regain his title back. However, Jones will hope for a good title defense against the former champion.
