Jon Jones is undeniably a legend in the world of MMA. The fighter has one of the most impressive resumes in the sport and is unmatched in the octagon. Jones is an absolute powerhouse and is regarded by many to be the number one pound-for-pound fighter in the history of UFC. However, as of current UFC rankings, ‘Bones’ stands at number six in the men’s pound for pound category.

The former light heavyweight champion has been infamous for his controversial personality outside of the octagon. ‘Bones’ believes that he is nothing but the best and has had clashes with many fighters throughout his career. Jones has been taking shots at the middleweight champion Israel Adesanya for quite some time now. He has also shunned the UFC for ranking ‘The Style bender’ above him in the pound-for-pound category.

Recently Jones took another dig at the Nigerian after a fan backed Israel in a possible fight between the two.

If they ever fought, a fan stated that Adesanya would knock Jones out in two rounds. In response to the fan’s remark, he fired back and Tweeted, “And then wakes up and realize he lost to Jan.” Adesanya’s only loss in the UFC has been against the former champion Jan Blachowicz. Jones’ tweet was in reference to that.

Jones has called Adesanya to fight him several times, but Israel was more interested in defending his title and cleaning out the middleweight division at that time.

He replied to the fan saying,” The two who are fighting next, what’s more exciting than that.”Many believe that by tweeting this, Jones was referring to current light-heavyweight champion Glover Teixeira and the number two contender Jiri Prochazka. The two are expected to compete for the UFC light-heavyweight championship next. Knowing Jones, he would only be willing to compete for the title in his next bout. By the tweet, Jones is most likely implying that he will compete for the UFC belt against the winner of Jiri versus Texeira.
