It’s a big fight. It’s a massive fight. I’m happy to be there back in New York again. Dana White believes Tom Aspinall has yet to prove his worth

What’s your perspective on:

Will Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic's retirement leave a void too big for Tom Aspinall to fill?

Have an interesting take?

With a career record of 15 victories and only 3 defeats, Tom Aspinall is one of the best heavyweight fighters of the modern era of the promotion. Out of those 15 victories, 14 came by way of first-round finish. It is kind of unfair for the promotion to make him wait for the heavyweight title but according to Dana White, he will have to wait till the hotshots of the divisions face each other. In one of his conversations, the UFC CEO praised Aspinall but in return asked him to wait.

“What he did to Curtis Blaydes, the way he did it, and how fast he did it, there is no doubt this guy is a scary dude and he looks like the future of the heavyweight division. But at the same time, he’s working his way up. He’s climbing up the ladder. Everyone says, ‘He deserves this and he deserves that.’ The dude doesn’t deserve anything,” said Dana White.

He further added, “He looks great and he looks like he’s going to be the guy. You have Stipe and Jon — who have paid their dues, they’ve been here forever, they’ve fought everybody and they’ve fought everybody, they’ve fought all the fights you can possibly fight — these guys deserve to fight each other. Whoever wins that fight, I think they owe it to Aspinall to fight him and give him the opportunity that they’ve been given.”

Dana White further asserted that Stipe Miocic will ‘100%’ retire after his last dance against Jon Jones but he has no answer for ‘Bones.’ What’s your take on the hubbub? State your thoughts in the comments below.
