Did Tom Aspinall just expose Jon Jones as all talk and no action?

Jon Jones, despite being a remarkable fighter, cannot wipe that big blemish away from his UFC career – failing multiple drug tests. This has always been a factor for his admission into ‘the greatest of all time’ debate. People just cannot stop bringing his shortcomings to the fore whenever they can, but ‘Bones’ seems to have had enough of that.

The undisputed heavyweight champion has been actively responding to his fans, which is a surprise given he just recently threw his phone away in a video in an attempt to escape the noise in social media. But then he came across a fan, who brought that topic up after interim champion Tom Aspinall‘s recent dig at the 27-1 legend.

After Jon Jones’s recent “large black c–k” comments, Tom Aspinall ripped into the undisputed champion, claiming that all the success ‘Bones’ ever had was while he was on PEDs. A fan subsequently echoed that same sentiment and Jon Jones came unglued and claimed how much work he’s put in to prove his innocence catering to his picogram controversy, the rules of which have changed over the rules. “Yep, worked my a– to prove my innocence. Now, picograms are legal in our sport,” Jon Jones tweeted.

However, he doesn’t seem to care too much about the criticism surrounding his drug testing mishaps. On that note, ‘Bones’ also took a slight jab at those fans who keep bringing his mistakes up all the time. “Honestly, none of that will matter a few years from now when I’m covering my kids tuition. You guys still laughing about what happened at the office, I’m outside on a golf cart,” Jon Jones added.

Although Jon Jones hasn’t made it to the news because of drug testing failures for some years now, some may find it unfair to keep judging him in that manner. But his former rival, Daniel Cormier, believes Tom Aspinall might have done the right deed by calling Jones out.

Have an interesting take?

Daniel Cormier seems okay with Tom Aspinall poking Jon Jones by highlighting his mistakes. He called it a “brilliant” move to trigger the undisputed champion only because Jones tries too hard in trying to make people believe that he wasn’t in the wrong. As we all know, most MMA pundits do not see that to be the truth. For that, Cormier has given Aspinall his props.

Guys, it’s brilliant. It’s brilliant. Because as you know, through the whole course of the situation with Jon and I, the one thing he always hated and the one thing that he wants to prove more than anything is that he did not do PEDs. The one thing that he does not want on his records is an asterisk,” Daniel Cormier stated on his YouTube channel.

It’s important to note that Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier haven’t put their differences aside, although it seems things are way better than it was before. But do you think it’s justified to point out ‘Bones’s past drug test failures every other instance? Drop your comments below.
