Quinton “Rampage” Jackson has long been one of MMA’s most recognizable faces, yet it appears that not everyone can distinguish him from other fighters. In a recent Instagram post, the former UFC champion shared a humorous interaction in which a young fan confused him for none other than Jon ‘Bones’ Jones. But that’s not all. Rather than correcting the child, the A-Team star chose to make light of the situation by joining in on the confusion. So, what did he do?

In the video, Rampage Jackson asks the kid whether he knows his name, only to be told, “You look like Jon Jones.” Rampage laughs and asks the youngster to Google Jones for proof. When the child claims that his beard makes him seem like the UFC heavyweight champion, Jackson shrugs and replies, “Yeah, I am Jon Jones.” The father, seeing the exchange, jokes with the A-Team star that he scared his son for a moment. Doubling down on the joke, Jackson then boasts, “I never lost a fight in my life, dude,” well aware that Jones’ record is one of the most debated in MMA history.

To make the situation more exciting, even Jon Jones himself commented on the video with a laughing emoji, showing that he does approve of the impersonation. It is worth noting that Rampage has been confused for someone else before. Back in the day, fans used to compare him to rapper Flo Rida, and the similarities are not far off. Both men are built like tanks, have identical facial characteristics, and wear the same type of beard. While Jackson pursued a career in knocking people out, Flo Rida chose a different path, conquering the music charts. If there’s ever an MMA vs. hip-hop crossover, maybe Flo could give the cage a shot—though I have a feeling Rampage would still win. Just a teeny-tiny chance.

Fans quickly flooded the comments section, with many wondering how a young MMA fan could mistake Rampage Jackson for Jon Jones. Some were outright irritated, saying that casuals constantly have the opportunity to encounter legends yet fail to acknowledge them. One fan said, “It’s always the casuals who get to meet em smh.” Another added, “My 9-year-old brother can differentiate. Whatta casual.” The criticism didn’t stop there, with one commenter mocking the boy, “How young and casual you gotta be to think Page is Jon Jones. These kids are eating paint chips for every meal or sum.”

Then there was the fact that Jackson was physically wearing a hoodie bearing his own name. That little detail sparked a frenzy among fans, adding to the comedy of the situation. “His damn jacket says Rampage Jackson on it 😂🤦🏻‍♂️,” one user said. Another fan laughed, “You’re literally wearing your name on your hoody 🤣.” The irony was simply too brilliant to overlook, with one additional fan stating, “Rampage having his name all over his hoodie makes this way funnier 😂😂.” Fans surely were finding it hard to believe what they were seeing, “Lmao, not him calling you Jon Jones when you’re rocking a hoodie with your name on it.”
