Ever since his return at UFC 285, Jon Jones has been the hottest heavyweight on the UFC roster. The former light heavyweight champion ended his three-year hiatus in March 2023 when he beat Ciryl Gane for the UFC heavyweight title. Despite many doubting that Jones would fare well at heavyweight, he disposed of Gane with ease and proved them wrong.

However, the heavyweight waters run deeper than Ciryl Gane. One heavyweight contender has confidently stepped forward, claiming he has all the tools to subdue the great Jon ‘Bones’ Jones. Furthermore, some fans also agree with his claim and give him a chance against the formidable champion.

  • He is the best matchup stylistically for Jones at heavyweight
  • Blaydes is so good, but he’s too one dimensional for Jones.
  • I got tools in my garage but that don’t mean I can build a house
  • he don’t have the size, or the speed, or agility, or the IQ, or the striking or the range, or the experience, or the fans or the BJJ, wreslting is close.
  • Jones beat DC twice, blaydes ain’t gonna do a damn thing
  • Jon Jones is going to retire after the Stipe fight, regardless of whether he wins or loses. Save this comment, I’m calling it now.
  • When has Jones ever been taken down and controlled? When has Blaydes showen he can deal with Jon’s striking. This stays on the feet and Jon pieces him up.

Before he can worry about facing Jones, Blaydes has to get through #3 ranked Sergei Pavlovich on April 22. The winner of this fight could be a future title contender in the division.
