“There’s no f*cking way I make the Pereira fight, Jon’s too big.” Remember when Dana White confidently dismissed the idea of Jon Jones vs. Alex Pereira after UFC 309? That was back when ‘Bones’ Jones had just obliterated Stipe Miocic with a brutal spinning back-kick, making it seem like the world was at his feet. Fast forward a couple of months, and things have taken a hilariously offbeat turn. The so-called “too big” entity is now busy seemingly sulking, while the man he wanted to fight is already matched up and moving on.

‘Poatan’ Pereira, meanwhile, isn’t just tweeting cryptic messages about Australia anymore. He’s actually there, soaking in the Sydney vibes and making sure everyone knows it. In a recent Instagram post, the light heavyweight champion casually hopped off an e-bike straight into his luxurious ($140,000+) G-Wagon, skyline glistening in the background. Fans soaked in the effortless flex. And the heavyweight champ? He kept it brief in the comments, “Living your best life.” A short, simple acknowledgment from a man who may be realizing the fight he wants is slipping through his fingers.

The irony? The Brazilian is out there thriving while Jon Jones remains hell-bent on securing that “f*ck you money” before stepping into the cage with Tom Aspinall. “If I give him the opportunity to fight me, I want to be so compensated, I want that ‘f*ck you’ money,” to be exact.

And guess what? UFC head honcho appears to be fully on board with his favorite “big” fighter. Rumors suggest he’s agreed to Jones’ $30 million demand, making the fight more of a when than an if. And White himself added fuel to the speculation at the UFC Tampa post-fight presser, teasing, “I’ve got something in the works for 2025 that you’ll never see coming.”

But currently, instead of defending the belt he already holds, Jon Jones is apparently taking on a much bigger opponent – America’s healthcare system. “This next fight for me is a personal one,” Jones declared in a dramatically unnecessary press conference. “But it’s not just for me. It’s for every American who’s ever been bullied, robbed, or deceived.” Big words, but fight fans expecting an announcement about unifying the heavyweight titles, it was yet another trip to limbo.

The ‘huge announcement’ turned out to be a partnership with Power to the Patients, a noble cause, sure, but not exactly the brawl people were hoping for. While ‘Bones’ is busy fighting battles outside the cage, Magomed Ankalaev has been screaming into the void.

Is Alex Pereira too busy living to even notice his next opponent?

The Russian powerhouse has been relentlessly trying to get Pereira’s attention, firing off tweet after tweet like a man possessed. Ankalaev threw every insult in the book, practically begging for a response ahead of their UFC 313 title fight. “@AlexPereiraUFC this guy keeps traveling and he forgets he will be fighting for his life March 8,” Ankalaev posted. “He will never be the same after this fight.”

But does Pereira look even remotely concerned? Not a chance. While Ankalaev has been in the mountains, chopping wood and swimming in freezing lakes, Pereira has been living it up, attending UFC 312 in Sydney and adding another six-figure ride to his collection. The Brazilian champ knows how to play mind games, and his calm demeanor is only fueling Ankalaev’s frustration.

The #1 contender has every reason to be hungry. He’s coming off a hard-fought unanimous decision win over Aleksandar Rakic at UFC 308, bringing his record to 19 wins in 22 fights. The win seemingly set the stage for his long-awaited title shot against the champ, but instead of locking in for war, the champion has been out here soaking up the Sydney sun.

Now, Alex Pereira is definitely living it up. Cruising through the streets in a McLaren, a Lamborghini, and his latest six-figure indulgence, a brand-new G-Wagon. And Jon Jones, well… hopefully, he’s mentally preparing for the English boogeyman of the heavyweight division.

So, what do you think? Could White have a change of heart if Pereira delivers another show-stopping performance at UFC 313? Or will Jones finally have to stop lurking in Instagram comments and actually fight the man he’s been avoiding? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
