Will the Jon Jones versus Tom Aspinall chaos ever end? Either it can end with the heavyweight stars clashing or the fight will never happen. Right now, everything is in standby mode according to the latest YouTube video by Tom Aspinall, as the UFC interim heavyweight champion appeared frustrated. After all, UFC has agreed to make the fight but there has been no word from Jones. However, is this the truth? Ex-UFC fighter Chael Sonnen just gave a new update.
In a recent YouTube video, according to the American gangster, ‘Bones’ did not get any offer in the first place! He started by saying, “I have my ear to grindstone. It’s very hard to have a secret around here that I don’t hear about. Just the truth and that’s why I don’t go looking for it. This one I have gone on and looked for. And my sources are telling me Jon Jones has not turned that fight down.”
Then ‘The Bad Guy’ continued with the surprising news saying, “Jon Jones has not been offered that fight. I’m talking about the official call where we say, ‘hey July 7 Vegas, you and Aspinall.’ World title weight class 265 yes or no? To my understanding, that call has not been placed yet.”

Yes, we know that the heavyweight kingpin wanted to fight Alex Pereira more than he wanted to face the English interim heavyweight champion. However, if he was offered “f**k you money”, he would fight Aspinall.

But Sonnen made a valid point stating that neither the fighters nor the promotion have told anything to the fans officially yet. He even gave Justin Gaethje’s example who recently called out specific names who apparently ducked a fight with him. He named Arman Tsarukyan, Renato Moicano, and Max Holloway’s names among others. But Aspinall? He is not naming names at all. However, he did say that he was ready to move on if Jones did not confirm this fight soon.
Tom Aspinall gives an ultimatum to Jon Jones
Tom Aspinall is frustrated and exhausted about all the speculation and the ‘what ifs’ attached to the fight against ‘Johnny Bones’. In a recent video on his YouTube channel, the interim heavyweight champion expressed, “I’ve been staying away from the media and talking about Jon Jones a lot because, in all honesty, I’m sick of talking about it myself. But there needs to be update.”

According to him, he has spoken to UFC and they are okay with moving forward with this matchup. So the hold-up is neither from his side nor the promotion’s. He added, “As far as I’m aware, this is down to Jon Jones and his team to work that out because I’m in. The UFC are in.” Aspinall has the cards against him right now but still, he is controlling the things that he can. At the end of the video, he added, “Jon, let’s do it. If you want to do it, you don’t have to ask me twice. If not, I’ll fight somebody else for the undisputed belt.”
