When Conor McGregor crossed over from the UFC to boxing, he had the weight of the promotion and Dana White’s support behind him. And guess what? Even though he lost via TKO in the 10th round to the greatest boxer of the modern era Floyd Mayweather, he still got to keep his job as a UFC fighter. When Mike Perry lost to Jake Paul via 6th round KO after he crossed over from BKFC, his boss Conor McGregor fired him (or at least posted about it on social media). In a surprising twist of fate, and following in McGregor’s footsteps, Mike Perry went on to co-found the Dirty Boxing Championship.
With the promise of “More action, more finishes, no bulls–t”, the debut event left the fighting community flabbergasted as a 47-year-old Yoel Romero scored a monstrous KO against Duane Crespo. Even the UFC heavyweight champion, Jon Jones who was present, was left in awe of the Cuban’s performance. Following the event, Dave Schmulenson, popularly known as The Schmo, had a brief talk with Perry and Jones. Therein, Schmulenson asked ‘Bones’ to give a final message to his fans. Jones wasted no time in saying, “Mike Perry is one of the realest n***as to have ever lived.” As soon as he praised the former BKFC champion, he walked out of the frame, leaving Perry as jolly a man could be.
Needless to say, getting high praise from someone like Jon Jones is nothing short of a feat. At Jones’ compliment, Perry beamed with excitement, “My dog, my dog, man,” and mimicked a dog barking a few times in respect. With the acknowledgment from the greatest MMA fighter ever, he shared the clip on his Instagram profile and wrote, “Compliments don’t get any higher. I fought my a** off for this type of recognition. Thanks, champ.”

As the deserving ‘King of Violence’ under the BKFC banner, after hard fought-bouts against the likes of Luke Rockhold, Michael Page, Eddie Alvarez, and Thiago Alves – Mike Perry wasn’t one to back down from Conor McGregor firing him from the promotion. ‘Platinum’ is not someone who is known to take insults or jibes from anyone, even if it’s the biggest MMA superstar in the world. With his new promotion making waves, Perry took the opportunity to speak his mind about his firing from BKFC, in a series documenting his Dirty Boxing Championship.

Mike Perry lashes out at Conor McGregor in ‘Down & Dirty’
In a teaser video for the ‘Down & Dirty’ docuseries, Perry responded to McGregor’s repeated jibes at him. After ‘Platinum’ co-founded the $411 million Dirty Boxing Championship, McGregor took to X and sent a jibe at Perry. He wrote, “Hey Mike you’re released and you can go and compete in your smelly dirty boxing championship thing, the smell of it, good luck. You’re fired.” While ‘Mystic Mac’ confirmed that they were in negotiations, despite claiming that Perry was fired, the BKFC legend made sure to unleash his rage upon the former UFC double champion.
Perry said, “No, what is making me mad is everybody is sucking his b*lls like he is already fighting for them. Like hi, did y’all forget that I am the reason you all are pumped up right now? I fought five times for y’all and y’all ain’t showing me no love. The fighter in Utah who won flicking me off in the ring, like okay – that is the most viral thing you can do. But Bit– you lucky I ain’t getting in that ring. Right now, I should have.”

Nevertheless, ‘Platinum’ now has a gig that can showcase his relevance in the fighting community, and his stance in BKFC wouldn’t really play a role in that. He even shared how proud he was of Dirty Boxing on IG. But will Perry’s new venture witness success like other fight promotions like BKFC or Powerslap? That remains to be seen.
