Jon Jones is reportedly under investigation for threatening and snatching the phone of a drug testing agent, who had come to his home to collect a sample. Crystal Martinez, the alleged victim, filed a police complaint against the undisputed heavyweight champion on March 5 detailing her harrowing experience of having visited ‘Bones’s home on April 30.

Jones, however has come out with a statement denying these charges. ‘Bones’ posted a video on his Instagram account that allegedly shows the drug testing team leaving his house on apparently friendly terms as proof that the assault didn’t happen.

In the caption to the video, he pleaded innocence and admitted that while he did use profanity with the agent, it was because he was “frustrated with the unprofessionalism” the testers allegedly displayed during the whole affair. He also claimed that they “even breached standard protocol along with HIPAA laws”.

However, he was adamant he didn’t assault the drug testing agents and put forth the video as evidence they left on an amicable note since “there is a video showing both drug testers leaving my home after the testing session, where we exchanged a high five and a hug.” While Jones is maintaining his innocence, given the gravity of the allegations he could get in some very real trouble if there is any truth in what Martinez has claimed.

Drug testing agent claims Jon Jones threatened her life

Crystal Martinez filed a police report with the Alberquerque Police Department on Friday. In the complaint, she alleges that when she went to Jon Jones’ home to collect a sample for CSAD (the anti-doping agency the UFC has onboarded after its acrimonious split with the USADA last year), the champion was initially cooperative.

However, after her fellow agent, identified as only ‘Jerome’, told her that Jones was struggling to pee, she suggested they take a blood sample instead. This, however, led to Jones turning hostile. Martinez alleges that the 36-year-old, whom she described as drunk and “bugged”, changed his friendly demeanor at the suggestion of a blood test and became “tense and puffed up.”

He then proceeded to pick up her phone, which she had placed on a table and proceeded to record her and Jerome, according to her statement. Most egregious, however, is the allegation that she and her fellow agent were given death threats by the UFC champion“Why you f****** people come so early, do you know what happens to people who come to my house … they end up dead,” Jones said according to Martinez’s police report.
