Jon Jones is a big name in the UFC world with his double champion belt. On top of that, he is set to return after a long hiatus away from the octagon! He claimed the LHW division and became the promotion’s youngest champ in history in 2011. Jones not only got all the praise from UFC CEO Dana White after UFC 302 presser, but even the former president gave him a shout-out. Former POTUS Donald Trump gave compliments to the heavyweight champ and talked about Jones being the GOAT. This made the champion elated, albeit with some sleepless nights.

In a recent Instagram post, ‘Bones’ shared a video of Trump speaking about the best Pound for Pound fighter in Logan Paul’s IMPAULSIVE podcast. They conversed about geopolitics and many other topics under which the UFC was a big one. Trump who is a fan of the promotion took the names of Khabib Nurmagomedov, and Jon Jones while talking about the greatest fighters of all time.

Trump said, “You guys would probably say he’s the best maybe you know probably and certainly; he probably is and they’re very close right Jon Jones a lot of people say.” Jones was delighted to be acknowledged by none other than the former President as he shared the video with the caption, “ I’m not even gonna lie, it feels pretty cool to have the president @realdonaldtrump mention Bones as one of the world’s greatest. Pretty litty..”

On this note, many fans commented on the re-shared video and one of them said that Jones might be having sleepless nights about the whole GOAT situation. ‘Bones’ agreed, saying that if anyone else was in his shoes, they would be thinking the same. The champ also spoke about his childhood and his struggle with self-confidence as he wrote, “If you were in my shoes, you would think about it a bunch too. It’s rare to be number one in the world at something. I was never good at anything growing up. So yeah, I’ll fight for this one.”

However, the ex-POTUS did not just compliment Jones alone. He even took Nurmagomedov’s name and met him face-to-face at UFC 302.

Trump made a return to UFC as a live audience and the crowd showed that they missed him by roaring cheers as he came in. He entered the arena with Dana White as the crowd burst into cheers and even Alex Pereira spoke to the former president and took some pictures with him. Meanwhile, Trump also met the retired Hall of Famer ‘The Eagle’ and even spoke to him.

The duo were smiling away as they shook hands and exchanged pleasantries and Trump finally met the fighter who he has complimented many times in the past. As per Nurmagomedov’s manager, Trump’s favorite fighter is none other than ‘The Eagle.’ The fighter even talked about his family with the former president and his inspirations.
