The MMA community is eagerly waiting for a bout between Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic. After three long years, Jon Jones made his grand return to the UFC octagon to defeat Ciryl Gane. Within minutes into the very first round, ‘Bones’ defeated ‘Bon Gamin’ by trapping him in a guillotine choke, which eventually compelled him to tap. Soon after the bout came to an end, Jones declared his next move. He called out the former UFC heavyweight champion, Stipe Miocic. Miocic, who was among the UFC 285 audience, nodded his head with a smile when ‘Bones’ called him out during the octagon interview.
Ever since then, fans have believed that the two are going to come face-to-face soon. At the moment, the former opponent of Jones, Anthony Smith, has given some details about how Miocic is preparing for the fight against Jones. It seems that he is giving an indirect warning to the UFC heavyweight champion.

Retired UFC fighter Brendan Schaub and UFC light heavyweight Anthony Smith sat together on The Schaub Show. During the conversation, Smith talked about having dinner with Miocic and their discussions. He said, “I had dinner with Stipe, I don’t know probably 30 weeks ago. He’s absolutely massive.” After listening to Smith, Schaub became curious and asked, “Is he jacked?” As a reply to the question, Smith said, “Dude he’s jacked like probably 255-260 like yoked yolks like in the firehouse just lifting weights the whole time. Sometimes you can tell when Stipe is mentally around or not. So even around some of the first two DC fights like he seemed kind of like half in and half out like he didn’t really give a sh*t.“
During the further conversation, the UFC light heavyweight revealed how Miocic seemed so focused on his new fight. Smith added, “He’s asking me like me and Stipe never talk about fighting because he doesn’t really watch fights. He’s not even a really big fan of the sport, but we spent the whole dinner talking about fighting techniques and footwork and movement and I was like, ‘damn I didn’t even know you knew any of that stuff’. Like he’s just not into it so mentally. He’s focused for sure and I know that physically he looks a lot better than he has in a long time so he’s definitely paying attention to his body.” According to Smith, Miocic is preparing hard to face the current UFC heavyweight champion.

The MMA community still has doubts about the possibility of a bout between Jones and Miocic. Many believe that their fight will take place in November at Madison Square Garden. However, there is a high chance for the venue and timeline to clash with the bout between Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler.
