The MMA community eagerly waited to watch Jon Jones and Francis Ngannou lock horns inside the UFC octagon. It became a huge disappointment for them when Ngannou left the world’s biggest MMA promotion, exactly when ‘Bones’ made his return after three long years. Both Jones and Ngannou are considered great fighters. Hence, when Jones decided to come back to ‘The Predator’s division, everyone got excited to witness a showdown between the two. However, that’s when the differences between the Cameroonian-French fighter and UFC president Dana White escalated like never before. The failed negotiations between the two parties ended up with Ngannou leaving the promotion to become a free agent.

Now ‘The Predator’ has joined the UFC’s rival MMA promotion, PFL, and Jones reigns as the UFC heavyweight champion. Nonetheless, fans still want to watch ‘Bones’ and ‘The Predator’ against each other. To their surprise, both of these fighters recently came face-to-face at the events of PFL 5. After coming across their face-off video, a retired UFC legend feels that they both pulled an act just to show that the beef between them is still on.

When Ngannou and Jones came face-to-face, it created a buzz among the netizens. They were highly excited to see the two greatest fighters come face-to-face. When Chael Sonnen learned about the incident, he took to his Twitter handle and tweeted his iconic dialogue, Should not have let him get close“. Now, he has talked about the matter in detail on his YouTube channel. Sonnen said, “They came face to face over the weekend. You guys see that? Face to face. I’m gonna address this. I’m gonna walk right up to you face to face. These two came. There was captions I saw that, there was don’t you wish you could hear what could be said. What I’d give to know what was said between those two, it didn’t matter what was said at all. It could have been ‘Hello how are you? Do you have a recommendation for me to get a stake tonight?

Talking further on the same topic, he added, “It could have been that or it could have been ‘You dumb son of a b*tch, if you ever get in there with me I’m gonna break every bone in your body.’ It doesn’t really make a bit of difference. They were saying it for the Face-Off and they both had whatever in their own minds right. When Jon came to his house and walked up to him on the floor or Francis stood the ground at the door and let Jon Jones know whatever make-believe tough guy story, they would like to do they both came in here with the absolute protection of knowing we can’t fight each other.”

Sonnen tried to convey that irrespective of what the two fighters discussed, it does not matter as the bout between the two will never come to fruition. ‘The American Gangster’, being the previous opponent of Jones, was able to easily calculate the intentions behind their face-off.

The conversation between ‘Bones’ and ‘The Predator’

‘Bones’ and ‘The Predator’ met each other at Overtime Elite Arena, Atlanta, where the events of PFL 5 were taking place. In a video posted by ESPN MMA, both fighters stood facing each other and began to talk with each other. They initiated a conversation by mentioning the amount of respect they had for each other. However, soon after, their conversation took a different turn.

‘The Predator’ expressed his wish to fight against the UFC heavyweight champ. As a response to Ngannou’s wish, Jones warned him about losing. However, ‘The Predator’ wanted the fight to happen outside the UFC. According to Sonnen, the two just acted in front of the fans after knowing very well that their fight might never happen as they are in two different MMA promotions.
