Saturday Night’s UFC 282 will go down as one of the most controversial events in the promotion’s books. Since both the main event and the co-main event were full of questionable results. Although the co-main event saw Paddy Pimblett stand victorious against Jared Gordon. According to many, he was the more deserving fighter to win out of the two.

The judges came to a completely different conclusion. Amongst many who voiced their opinion were John McCarthy and Josh Thomson. Moreover, McCarthy even ended up debating with his son regarding the decision.

Paddy ‘The Baddy’ won his fourth consecutive fight in the promotion, since making his debut. Although, on paper, it might come off as a great run, many doubters believe he will crumble upon a serious challenge from the top 10.

The win over ‘Flash’ wasn’t a gracious one, to say the least. Considering himself one of the biggest pay-per-view draws, he needs to get himself together before facing one of the top guns. Now that a match-up with the top of the division now seems quite likely. The question remains unanswered, is he good enough?

John McCarthy gives his 2 cents on the fight

It is safe to say that former UFC referee McCarthy knows a thing or two regarding the sport. Perhaps that’s why he has managed to gain hundreds of thousands of subscribers for his YouTube channel. Alongside former UFC fighter Josh Thomson, he hosts a podcast enrapturing combat sports events and entities.

In his recent video, he explains how his former employers had nothing to do with the result. The judges are picked by Nevada Athletic Commission. For the same reason, UFC didn’t have an involvement regarding the results.

Moreover, he also shared how the promotions work. He said, “In the end, they know which direction they’re going to go and they know what they’re going to do, “

In addition, he shared an interesting conversation he had with his child regarding the result of the co-main event. He said, “My son was one of the judges and he asked me and I said oh you got that wrong. I thought Jared Gordon wanted 29-28.

Josh Thompson is not impressed with Paddy Pimblett

Thompson shared his 2 cents on Paddy Pimblett. Although ‘he fights hard’ there hasn’t seen enough improvement which should be there.

He said, “I haven’t seen any improvement John since he’s come into the UFC, not one.” The Punk’s opinion is valued by the fans since he is an established fighter.
