“They’re pushing this weird agenda in a place where people are already getting taken advantage of. According to independent research by a French authority, the 2024 Olympics are set to generate a massive $ 7.37 billion and $ 12.21 billion in net economic benefits just for the Paris region. However, that’s not all as the study further proclaimed that in the case of an intermediate scenario $ 9.79 billion would be the net income. That’s a massive amount just for the region but now the question comes, how much of this goes to the athletes?

Well, this was highlighted by Joe Rogan in his recent escapade with Khalil Rountree Jr. Going against the entire world, Rogan emphasized that the administration is just exploiting the athletes and nothing else. This statement was rather bold from the podcaster considering the fact that the UFC has been accused of doing the same. This statement has been made by the MMA attorney Erik Magraken on his latest escapade. The Canadian lawyer took to his X handle to state, “Rogan tells us the Olympics are a ‘giant scam’ because of all the $$$ rolling in and the athletes not getting a fair cut. I agree Joe. Now do the UFC.

The promotion has been accused of using unfair advantage to capture their competition to exploit the fighters to fight on minimal wages. The UFC Anti-Trust lawsuit took the entire promotion alongside Dana White to the knees. So is this a reality that the UFC is paying less to its fighters? The short answer to that question is yes.

However, it is still better than what the normal Olympic Athletes make. According to water polo player Kaleigh Gilchrist, most of the athletes live from paycheck to paycheck. Additionally, the commercialization structure for Olympics is not as robust as most sports organizations, and the IOC Rule 40 isn’t helpful either. Well, Joe Rogan’s statement was a bit controversial and he was supposed to be bashed by many athletes but in the midst of chaos, there’s a ray of hope as well.

UFC insider praises Rogan for his comments on the Olympics

Joe Rogan was completely unfiltered when he talked about the event,  “They’re the ones reaping all the money and siphoning cash from these athletes. The money they make is astronomical. The Olympics makes billions in television and advertising revenue, and none of it goes to the athlete,” voiced Rogan. On one side, Magraken as well as Craig Jones has called out the podcaster for his statement, and on another side, Rogan received staunch support from Chael Sonnen.

The former UFC fighter said, “There is not a lot of other things where you could get people on TV, make them your show, and not compensate them. So, it’s a rather fascinating position but the greatest trick that the Olympic committee ever did is convincing the athletes they should not be paid.” Well, the argument has been made and the sports world will have to take sides now.
