In an alternate universe, Joe Rogan would have said something like: “I think human consciousness was a tragic misstep in evolution. We became too self-aware. Nature created an aspect of nature separate from itself. We are creatures that should not exist, by natural law.” And anyone who has tuned in to HBO’s highly acclaimed ‘True Detective’ series knows exactly what comes next. With a disgusted, flustered look, this dialogue has echoed in my ears. “I just want you to stop saying odd s–t like you smell a psycho’s fear or you’re in someone’s faded memory of a town. Just stop!”
Well, this didn’t exactly happen on the latest Joe Rogan Experience episode, but you get the idea, right? The podcaster welcomed Hollywood royalty, Woody Harrelson, for episode #2277 of JRE. ‘Detective Marty Hart’ is currently on a press tour to promote his upcoming film, ‘Last Breath’, set to release on February 28. As expected, the episode delivered. After all, Rogan and Harrelson share plenty of common interests—psychedelics, alternative medicine, and regenerative farming, to name a few.
During their discussion, the actor couldn’t help but accuse Dr. Anthony Fauci of “extraordinarily evil s–t” when he was the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID). And AZT (azidothymidine vaccine) during the 1980s AIDS crisis was a part of that conversation.

Let us not forget that Fauci’s name was repeatedly brought up by conservatives during the vaccine mandates during the COVID-19 pandemic. The mandate was seen as being overbearing by anti-vax advocates.
For over two and a half hours, the duo dived deep into these topics and much more, keeping listeners engaged with their fascinating conversation. Rogan, who clearly enjoying the discussion, later took to Instagram to express his appreciation: “It was an honor and a privilege to sit down and have a conversation with @woodyharrelson. What a friendly and cool guy. I really enjoyed it.”
But hey, it is a JRE episode and how can it not spark a little controversy?

Fans were quick to take to the comment section and share their opinions about the episode. Let’s just say they had some interesting thoughts.
Fans have hilarious reactions to Woody Harrelson’s Joe Rogan Experience episode!
Here’s how Harrelson started his part in the episode: “Everything’s groovy as could be. I am happy in Austin. I love it here, you know?” Nothing is wrong with what he said, but it is rather how he said it. The actor looked calm and happy as he slowly slurred on his words. This made some fans think:
- “How much weed was smoked before and after?”
- “God damn he was so high man I don’t think I’ve heard him talk like that”.
Well, we do not know if Rogan and Harrelson spent some time chatting before the recording began, but what we do know is that reports until 2023 suggest that the latter quit smoking cannabis but there were hiccups in between. For instance, in 2019, his resolve of not smoking up was broken by musician Willie Nelson.
“See, everybody thinks of Willie as a model of progressive thinking and virtue, and he is, but he’s also got an evil side. Eee-vil,” Harrelson had stated. What’s surprising is that the actor had gone about two years without the substance even in the presence of Nelson. “We’d be playing poker and he’d pass me a vape pen. And I’d say, ‘Willie, man, I don’t do that anymore.’ And he’d act surprised, like it was news to him—every time, just as surprised as he could be.”
Regardless, fans made a couple of more observations.
- “He seems like he’d be the coolest dude to hang out with”.
Further, one of the biggest memes associated with Harrelson, of course, is his remarkable likeliness to ‘Breaking Bad’s Skyler White played by Anna Gunn. That is why one fan hilariously had a request for Joe Rogan.

- “Would you invite him and Skylar from breaking bad so we make sure they’re not the same person?”

But things don’t end here. Fans who know some history were surprised that the podcaster didn’t ask a looming question. For the unversed, it is widely speculated that Woody Harrelson’s dad, Charles, was a hitman who was convicted for multiple murders, including that of President John F. Kennedy. Hence, one fan felt let down that Rogan didn’t ask Woody about his father’s possible involvement in the JFK assassination, one of the most famous murders in the history of the world:

- “Not 1 mention of JFK??? Joe, I’m a little disappointed”
Given the eclectic and unique views both Rogan and Harrelson share on various topics, some fans were sure that the chemistry between the two men would be electric and would result in a podcast episode for the ages. Do you agree?
