Khabib Nurmagomedov is one of the most dominant fighters in the history of the UFC, who retired as an undefeated champion. Regardless, Joe Rogan appeared skeptical about ‘The Eagle’s streak, claiming one of his wins as debatable. Likewise, former UFC Champion Eddie Alvarez also seemed to be in agreement with Rogan as per his recent statement about Nurmagomedov.

The 29-0 legend didn’t have to sweat too much inside the Octagon. He has 8 career knockout wins and 11 submission wins to go with that. Moreover, after all the years of fighting, he hasn’t had any bruises or scars on his body, but does have a cauliflower ear, like most fighters. Khabib Nurmagomedov has been often compared to Georges St-Pierre by many MMA figures and fans, including Eddie Alvarez, who gave his take on that front.

Joe Rogan’s comments about Khabib Nurmagomedov’s fight against Gleison Tibau may have garnered the interest of former UFC lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez. He recently commented on an Instagram post that ‘The Eagle’ should have lost that fight. Alvarez derived that conclusion after pointing out that Tibau took down ‘The Eagle’ multiple times during that contest. He wrote, “Gleason took him down 3-4 times and actually won the fight so George wouldn’t of been the first.”

Furthermore, when it comes to the comparison between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Georges St-Pierre, Eddie Alvarez made his stance on this debate clear. He stated that a fight between those two legends in their prime would end up with St-Pierre coming out on top. “In their primes George wins. GSP fan [f]or life,” Alvarez added. On the other hand, St-Pierre also opened up on Nurmagomedov during a recent podcast where he highlighted the differences in their fighting styles.

During a recent appearance on the ‘Pound for Pound with Kamaru and Henry’ podcast, Georges St-Pierre mentioned how Khabib Nurmagomedov likes to charge at his opponent. That is where he believes he can take advantage of the 29-0 legend. ‘GSP’ said, “I think I would have beat him because if he would have come to put pressure on me, I would have put him down. I would have had the confidence to try to go for it.”

Georges St-Pierre also reminded people about how many fighters he finished, claiming that he’d have been one of the few fighters who would have ever attempted to finish Khabib Nurmagomedov. “I think that I would have maybe been the first guy that he fought or one of the only guys that would have tried to put him down, and I’ve put down everybody that I’ve fought,” ‘GSP’ added.

Although people debate about Khabib Nurmagomedov and his undefeated and GOAT status, it is important to remember how much he has contributed to the sport of MMA. ‘The Eagle’ also opened the floodgates for more Dagestani fighters to come to the UFC. Meanwhile, Georges St-Pierre is a legend in his own right and that’s something that people can’t debate about.
