Michael Chandler is finding every single motivational tool he can in his shed. All so he can take down Conor McGregor in what would be his great return to the UFC. Now, with things set in motion, Joe Rogan‘s words bring Chandler more energy than anything else.

On episode #1956 of The Joe Rogan Experience, Rogan sat down with singer-songwriter Luke Combs to talk about a bunch of things. When MMA was brought up, Rogan had to speak about the MMA GOAT, Jon Jones. Chandler took the audio from this clip and put it on his own to pull out the champion within him. Here’s more.

Michael Chandler is all set for his middleweight bout at UFC 302. It’s fresh, it’s new, and it’s exactly what he’s been seeking for over a year. Finally, the fight he’s been on the lookout for has been announced by his opponent, ‘The Notorious, Conor McGregor.

It’s enough to say that both fighters are going all-in with their preparations for it. Recently, Chandler took to his X account to upload a video of him training hard. On top of the video, he’s put in a slightly dramatized version of Joe Rogan’s words to motivate himself.

“There’s human beings that have different temperament and different minds and different mentality and a ruthless competitive drive that’s almost terrifying to the ordinary person.” Rogan says in the clip. “. . that guy if we were living a thousand years ago he would be on a horse with the biggest battle ax waiting in the back.”

Rogan is, of course, speaking of ‘Bones’ himself. However, that doesn’t mean Chandler can’t find some motivation for himself. He, too, can become the man with the axe for Conor McGregor if he approaches this fight with the perfect game plan. But what could be the perfect game plan for him?

What could Chandler do to win?

In a recent video on his YouTube channel, UFC veteran Michael Bisping gave a pretty solid idea of how Chandler could come out as the winner. So far throughout his career, one of the biggest issues spectators have seen McGregor face is losing his energy. Bisping cited his second Nate Diaz fight at 170 pounds, which the Irishman won, but it left him tired and gasping for air.

This time, he’s about to fight at 185 pounds instead. The weight will certainly add power to his strikes. That left hand is still as vicious, or perhaps even more so. However, if Chandler can tank or dodge those and keep his momentum up, if he can use his energy to overwork McGregor during the fight, he has a solid chance of winning, if Bisping is to be believed.
