Ronda Rousey lost to Amanda Nunes at UFC 207 in T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas 2016. After suffering a crushing defeat in her previous fight at UFC 193 in Marvel Stadium, Melbourne, this was her comeback fight. However, The Lioness showed no mercy to Rowdy as she dismantled her in just 0:48 seconds.
UFC color commentator, Joe Rogan, broke down Rousey’s performance on his podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience with guests, Eddie Bravo, Brendan Schaub, and Joey Diaz.

While discussing Nunes’s spectacular performance, former UFC heavyweight fighter and podcast host Brendan Schaub questioned Rousey’s mental presence in the fight.
“You hear all the criticism about Edmond now, who is obviously a terrible coach, but take that out of it. If you bring a horse to water and they can’t drink, there’s nothing else you can do. So, mentally, if she doesn’t want to be in there. It doesn’t matter,” said the host of the Below The Belt podcast.
Schaub’s comment baffled Rogan as he asked, “Do you think she doesn’t want to be in there? Why you say that?”
The ex-heavyweight UFC athlete responded, “It doesn’t look like she had the same tenacity; Like we used to see.”
Rogan disagreed and revealed the game-changing moment in the bout for the ‘super tenacious’ former champion. He said, “She got hurt with a right hand maybe 10-15 seconds in.”
“She got hit by the biggest power puncher in the 135-pound division by far. There’s not a single girl in the division that punches like Amanda Nunes.”
Apart from praising Amanda Nunes‘s knockout power, Rogan pointed out another important factor that didn’t help Rousey.
Joe Rogan believed Ronda Rousey wasn’t the same after the UFC 193 head kick
The JRE host also brought in an important aspect that goes under the radar when considering Rousey’s comeback fight. In her prior fight a year ago, she tasted the first defeat in her entire mixed martial arts career. Moreover, it was the way she lost that was concerning.
Rousey got hit for two rounds before a timely head kick knocked her out cold. Besides, Holly Holm followed with two hammer fists to Rousey’s face before the ref pulled her off.

Rogan said, “There was also the reality that she was knocked out f***ing cold a year ago. And it was a bad beating and then a vicious head kick.”
The JRE host also talked about how Chuck Liddell, who wasn’t the same fighter once his chin was gone, while describing the impact of Holly Holm’s kick that Rousey perhaps carried at UFC 207.
