Recently, two climate activists glued their hands on to the frames of the Spanish painter, Francisco Goya, at the Prado Museum. Although the paintings were not damaged, the frames received some discoloration. Surprisingly, this wasn’t the first attempt at vandalizing such masterpieces. Art pieces by Dutch artist Vincent van Gogh, and even Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa became the targets. Thankfully, the masterpieces were covered in glass and were not damaged.
In addition to trashing masterpieces, the protestors justified their actions with the argument that people are more concerned about the paintings instead of the environment. The protestors warned that the vandalism would continue till the issue received significant attention.
