While talking to Dave Portnoy, Rogan was very optimistic about Jorge Masvidal being a good match for Leon Edwards. Replying to Portnoy, he said, “That’s a good fight because Jorge Masvidal sucker-punched Leon Edwards backstage when Jorge just won a fight. I think he just knocked out Darren Till.”
A fight with big names like Jorge Masvidal and Leon Edwards was always going to be big. The sucker punch delivered by Masvidal backstage adds a bit of beef and spice to the match-up and fans will be really excited to know if the fight is materializing if they were to fight.
Kamaru Usman may have to wait for another surgery
#1 Welterweight and #4 pound-for-pound fighter Kamaru Usman would have been eager to settle some scores against Leon Edwards, but he will have to wait. Usman is struggling with a ligament tear. It is speculated that there will be “another surgery” as shared by Rogan. And it will keep him out of the octagon for a while. Usman might miss his trilogy fight against Leon Edwards in March and replacements are being talked about.
