The JRE host then pointed out as to why the fight actually happened. Both Rua and Silva were known to have brutal punching power and their clash indeed ended with a knockout. Rogan further added, “Because Shogun had some Pitbull puppies and Wanderlei wanted one. And he was offering to sell it to him. He said let’s fight for it and Wanderlei KO’ed him and took the puppy. I believe it too. Because apparently those guys knocked each other out a lot. ” Wanderlei Silva was definitely one of the scariest fighters to ever grace the Octagon. His aggressive style of fighting and power made him a force to be reckoned with during his heyday.
However, as scary as Wanderlei was, ‘Rampage’ was unfazed by him. While speaking to Rogan, he pointed out how the Brazilian was under the influence of performance-enhancing substances during his time at ‘PRIDE FC’.

Quinton Jackson shares why Wanderlei Silva was terrifying to face
There are very few fighters in the MMA who are as intimidating as Wanderlei Silva. The Brazilian holds the record for the most number of finishes via knockouts. He also holds the record for the longest winning streak during his time in Japan. However, his performance was not only confined to his skill set. According to Jackson, he used performance-enhancing drugs to improve his record. There were many who used them during their time in the Japanese Organization and ‘The Axe Murderer’ was no different.
Rampage said, “For me, the most obvious was Kevin Randleman, RIP. I don’t ever want to talk ill of big bro. Mark Coleman, he’s honest about it, they were doing something, and Wanderlei for sure was on that sh*t.” Jackson further pointed out the impact those had on the Brazilian. He added, “He fought like he was on it. He fought like he had rabies.”
