Is Joe Rogan right to worry about Alex Pereira's chances against Khalil Rountree?

In the current UFC landscape, very few fighters strike fear into their opponents’ hearts as light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira. The Brazilian ace is a knockout machine, but Joe Rogan advises ‘Poatan’ not to get too comfortable because of that. Why? Well, the longtime UFC commentator claims Pereira’s next opponent, Khalil Rountree, is nothing less than dangerous.

Nobody expected Khalil Rountree to earn a title shot given that he served a suspension recently for a doping violation. But he’s got it as he’ll take on Alex Pereira in the first PPV of October, and Joe Rogan believes that Alex Pereira will have his work cut out for this one.

Joe Rogan’s recent ‘JRE MMA Show’ episode made for an interesting conversation as newly crowned welterweight champion Belal Muhammad joined the host. The almost 3-hour-long episode saw Joe Rogan mentioning a few things about Khalil Rountree. The 57-year-old clapped back pretty hard at those people who don’t seem too confident about the 14-5 record holder’s chances, claiming that Rountree fights like a man on a mission.

“He’s fighting in Salt Lake City against Rountree and that’s a wild a** fight man. A lot of people say, ‘Rountree doesn’t deserve it’. Let me tell you something. Rountree fights like you just killed his family and lit his house on fire. That dude’s coming for you,” Joe Rogan told Belal Muhammad.

Just like Alex Pereira, Khalil Rountree also has that knack for putting opponents to sleep. With 7 knockouts already in the UFC, Rogan has no doubts that the light heavyweight title bout will be an all-out striking battle. “He’s not gonna shoot a takedown. There’ll be no takedowns. He’s f***ing dangerous, man,” Joe Rogan added.

Rountree’s expecting “an amazing fight” against ‘Poatan’

Khalil Rountree has never attempted a takedown in his entire life. He’s all about the hard-hitting action.
