UFC commentator Joe Rogan detailed the chain of actions that resulted in Jiri Prochazka sustaining one of the worst injuries in UFC history. The former UFC champion then had to vacate the gold when he popped up his shoulder in training. The horrific injury sidelined the Czech fighter for a prolonged period and he is currently eyeing a comeback.
‘Denisa’ was ready to defend his championship title in a rematch against Glover Teixeira, having only just begun his reign at the top. However, his excitement was short-lived when the 30-year-old had a mishap in the gym. One of his worst fear came to fruition when the UFC surgeon as well as Dana White labeled the injury as the worst they had ever witnessed. But Prochazka himself was not at fault.

The famed podcaster narrated the events leading up to Prochazka’s messed up shoulder when he sat down with Dave Smith at Ep. #1977 at JRE. Notably, Rogan mentioned the light heavyweight fighter’s camp tried to fix his already injured shoulder. Despite good faith, the coaches unintentionally ended up destroying the MMA fighter’s shoulder.
The 55-year-old said, “Dude, he f*cked his shoulder up so bad the UFC surgeon said it was the worst shoulder injury he had ever seen. This is what happened.”
“His shoulder came out of place during training, and they yanked on it to put it back in and f*cked it up,” he added later.
The guest experienced a flurry of frustration and disappointment at the revelation. He pitted the fate of the #1 ranked light heavyweight fighter who was coming off an insane match against Glover Teixeira.
Thus, he said, “That sucks while he is a champion of the world.”
Markedly, Prochazka is already gearing up for a fight against the current champion, Jamahal Hill, later this year. The 29-3-1 record holder has already unleashed jibes at the champ to gain a psychological advantage.
Jamahal Hill is thinking about Jiri Prochazka
Prochazka, in an interview with LowKick MMA, revealed he knew the strengths and shortcomings of the champion. Further, he contended how Hill, despite knowing the key to winning, would fail.
He said, “He’s [Jamahal Hill] thinking he knows what is the key to win. But it doesn’t matter. I don’t want to speak about that a lot but. I know how he is thinking about me.”
