Throwback to Khabib Nurmagomedov hitting out at Joe Rogan
Umar Nurmagomedov is one of the biggest prospects in the sport. In a matter of hours, he is set to make his comeback against Bekzat Almakhan. However, a throwback to UFC 272. The cousin brother of the former lightweight champion fetched himself his 14th victory by defeating Brian Kelleher inside a round. Post the bout, in the cage, Rogan interviewed the victor but stumbled his way through pronouncing his name.

This effort to pronounce his name was quite amusing and made rounds on the internet. Amongst several other fans, it caught the attention of Khabib himself, who was in the Octagon at the time. Witnessing it, he felt the need to call out the UFC commentator and ask him to remember his cousin’s name correctly. On Instagram, he wrote, “@joerogan you should have remembered this name 😄@umar_nurmagomedov is a problem 👊”
Safe to say that, Khabib is not just a mentor and coach for his brothers but, to an extent, even their promoter. However, it bears mention that this has not been the sole instance that the retired fighter has publicly endorsed his brother as a formidable combatant.
