The race for appearances on podcast shows is one of the trends at the end of the election campaign in the United States, proof that this format has acquired a political weight that it did not have only four years ago. The influence of Joe Rogan, the ultra-popular king of podcasts in the US, has not escaped the attention of the two candidates for the American presidency on November 5. With nearly 15 million subscribers on Spotify and YouTube, appearing on podcasts has become the new goal for the candidates.
While reports state that Harris’ appearance is all but confirmed, Trump too has revealed his plans for an episode with the JRE host. He said that he was planning to be invited by Joe Rogan while being interviewed on another podcast, “Full Send,” on Saturday, October 12. However, Rogan has yet to accept the former president’s offer for an episode together. And according to renowned entrepreneur Patrick Bet-David, there can be dire consequences if Rogan refuses to have Trump as his guest.
In a recent edition of ‘Valuetainment,’ Patrick Bet-David revealed that having Trump on the show would truly be a great chance for fans to get to see the real side of the former POTUS. All because Rogan truly is a great host who knows how to take the unconventional approach for interviews. “You can have 20 different people, and there’s a certain way some interviewers approach it. You just know how they’re going to interview—like, “Okay, that’s a ChatGPT interview,” or, “This is going to be silly,” or, “This one’s going to be lightweight.” But then you think, “I’m looking forward to Trump talking to him and to him talking to Joe.” I can’t wait to see that conversation take place. It’s going to be exciting.” However, with such high expectations, there’s also the risk of evoking the wrath of the fans by not accepting the opportunity.

The entrepreneur claimed on the show that Joe Rogan might face a severe backlash from fans now that Trump and Elon Musk have confirmed that they want to see the former POTUS as a part of the show. “Musk said it’s gonna happen; Trump said it’s going to happen. If Joe doesn’t do it, he will have a lot of backlash.”
Democrat Kamala Harris seems not to want to be outdone. Her team is negotiating an appearance of the current vice president on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast. But while Harris might actually make an appearance, the situation is a lot bleak for Donald Trump.

Joe Rogan earlier rejected offers to have Donald Trump on the show
It is worth noting that a few years ago, Joe Rogan told the Lex Fridman Podcast that he had turned down multiple requests from Donald Trump to appear on his show. Why? Well, that’s because he is not a fan of the business tycoon, and thus decided not to ‘help’ Trump by having him on his show- “I’ve had the opportunity to have him on my show more than once. I’ve said no, every time. I don’t want to help him. I’m not interested in helping him.”
What’s your perspective on:
Will Joe Rogan's refusal to host Trump spark a backlash, or is he right to stand firm?

Although this was truly a shocking revelation for many since Rogan has often shared similar beliefs to that of the former President. Like his stance on COVID-19 vaccines and for showing his support to other far-right politicians, such as Ron DeSantis, in the past. So it is truly unexpected to see that the same Rogan who praises DeSantis’ work for the Florida government would oppose the Trump regime. And it wasn’t just a one-and-done, since Rogan has mentioned his strong dislike towards Donald Trump.

Speaking with Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy back in January 2023, Rogan claimed that the political establishment didn’t know how to react to the first Trump presidency, since it was caught off guard by Trump’s unconventional approach and rise to power. However, it has already been two years since Rogan revealed his displeasure towards Trump. So it might not be too surprising if the podcaster had a change of mind!
