Joe Rogan is the most popular commentator in the UFC. His relationship with Martial Arts began when he was 13 years old. Additionally, Rogan won the US Open Tae Kwon Do Championship when he was 19 years old. Eddie Bravo, a standup comedian, turned Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instructor, trained and promoted Rogan to the rank of black belt in Jiu-Jitsu at his academy, 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu.
In 2012, a teary-eyed Rogan accepted his black belt from Eddie Bravo in a YouTube video. After getting the belt, he gave a speech in which he related his taekwondo master’s childhood advice.

Rogan with teary eyes said, “Teacher told me when I was a little kid that I never forget that Martial Arts is a vehicle for developing your human potential and nothing in my life has never put meaning faced with reality better than Jiu-Jitsu because I think you know life we can all distort our perception of things in order to make our ourselves comfortable in order to make ourselves expect where we are.”
“When you do Jiu-Jitsu, it’s impossible to be full of because reality comes at the purest form possible a life or death struggle using your determination your focus your techniques your mind in your training and over and over and it’s reality and if you up and get caught in a triangle, you’ve gotta tap that’s the end of the story it’s real as it can get and that had made me a better person.”

It seems Rogan has done justice to his taekwondo teachers’ words. He has developed his potential through martial arts. We see his devotion and dedication to martial arts in the way he ties martial arts to his life.

There are various videos on YouTube having Rogan kicking and destroying bags. Among them is an 11-year-old video of Rogan teaching the ‘Greatest of all-time’, Georges St Pierre with a turning, spinning back kick.

But it was quite astonishing to see a 54-year-old Rogan smashing his heavy bag through a powerful roundhouse and spinning back kicks in a January 2022 video.
Rogan is a devastating blend of Taekwondo kicks, lethal boxing punches, and excellent grappling skills. He is the living proof for age is just a number.
