Consequently, he knew about striking stars like Israel Adesanya, Gokhan Saki, and others before they arrived at the UFC.
On the JRE podcast episode #1838, Rogan talked about his initial impression of the Kiwi kickboxer and the conversation he had with him.

After describing how exceptional of a striker Israel Adesanya is, Rogan showed his guest, Brian Simpson, the ending sequence of Adesanya’s bout with Paulo Costa. The standup comic pointed out Costa getting ‘humped’ by Adesanya and both laughed about it.
During the conversation, the 54-year-old Joe Rogan brought up his first interaction with the Nigerian-born; Rogan said, “I reached out to Izzy before he ever fought in the UFC. I saw him fight in the kickboxing matches. And I reached out to him on Instagram; Like way back in the day.”
Rogan added, “He was telling me that he’s taking some fights in China, and he’s like, he’s gonna come to the UFC, but he’s gonna do it the right way. He did it the right way; he was smart.”

Thereafter, the UFC analyst talked about how some kick-boxers don’t take proper time before transitioning to MMA, which costs them big time while facing a wrestler with a good double leg attack.

Joe Rogan talked to Herb Dean on his Spotify podcast and said, “He [Israel Adesanya] is, like, in my opinion, probably the very best in sport at setting traps. He’ll like, gauge you, see what you’re doing, and then switch stances.”
Thus, the dynamic striker presents a lot of issues to his opponent with his various looks and unique style.
