Is Trump's offer to pay Harris's debt a master troll move or genuine generosity?

Joe Rogan’s endorsement of Donald Trump is widely considered a significant factor in getting him elected as President yet again – so much so that the UFC commentator was thanked by Trump on stage in his post-election victory speech. After all, young men, who are Rogan’s biggest fanbase are also the most ardent support base for the President-elect. Donald Trump won with not the just young, male demographic – but also secured a major vote share among young men from the Hispanic, African-American and Muslim communities.

Everyone knows about Rogan’s fondness for Trump, and some folks are wondering if the 47th President paid the UFC commentator for his endorsement. “How much money did Donald Trump give you to endorse him?”, comedian Jeff Dye asked Rogan on episode #2229 of the JRE podcast.

In reply, Rogan jokingly said, “$100 million,” with a smile, before going on to correct the record. “No, he didn’t. He gave me nothing.” Dye, it seems, had an ulterior motive in asking Rogan that question, as he quickly added: “But I how much did Beyonce get [for endorsing Kamala Harris]?”

“She got $10 million. But hold on, she talked for like three minutes – that’s good. I mean, that’s enough,” Rogan answered, tongue firmly in his cheek. However, it seems this is not actually true. The fact-checking website ‘Politifact’ found ‘no evidence’ for this claim.

Joe Rogan‘s producer, ‘Young Jamie’ also jumped in during the podcast and cautioned the JRE host that this may not be true. Rogan, as usual, laughed the fact-check off and admitted that he had just read Beyonce got $10 million to endorse Harris on the internet, and repeated it on his podcast. But what he was 100% correct on was Trump trolling the Kamala Harris campaign, who are in dire straits at the moment.

Joe Rogan laughs at Trump offering to pay Harris campaign’s debt

What’s your perspective on:

Is Trump's offer to pay Harris's debt a master troll move or genuine generosity?

Have an interesting take?

The Kamala Harris campaign reportedly raised $1 billion, but by the end of the election, still found itself $20 million in debt. In a tweet a few days after the election Donald Trump hilariously offered to pay off this debt from his own campaign finances since he had a surplus even after the election. Joe Rogan predictably found the whole thing very very amusing.

“Here’s the crazy thing. They [Harris campaign] spent a billion dollars, they’re $20 million in debt, and Trump offered to pay their debt. He’s like ‘we have a lot of money left over ‘cuz most of our media was earned media,'” Rogan said, laughing.

Of course, many suspect that was not a serious offer from Trump, and that the President-elect was trolling Harris and the Democrats over the blue party’s financial, and election losses. To be fair, Presidential campaigns are expensive – very expensive. Not many have the knack Trump has for generating headlines, nor do they have the willingness to go on podcasts, which he pioneered in this election cycle.
