Just as advertised, the fights for the UFC 299 event in Miami certainly delivered as it brought the fight fans incredible finishes and total chaotic wars. The main event of the night showed world-class striking from the bantamweight champion, Sean O’Malley, and an absolute warrior-like heart and chin from the challenger, Marlon Vera.

The fight ended after going the whole five rounds and ended with O’Malley retaining his UFC championship. This left O’Malley with quite a lot of options for his next fight. But his choice of the next opponent seemed to excite the UFC commentator, Joe Rogan.

Joe Rogan agrees with Sean O’Malley’s pick for the next fight

During the post-fight interview, Sean O’Malley revealed that he wished for a super fight against the newly crowned UFC featherweight champion, Ilia Topuria. “Suga’s” pick for a new opponent looked to impress the UFC commentator, as he believed that it would make for an interesting super fight. After the post-fight interview, Rogan stated, “I’ll go to Spain for that”

Sean O’Malley has now avenged the only loss in his MMA career after putting on an absolute clinic against Marlon Vera. Considering that the bantamweight champion had always considered his loss to Vera a fluke, his win at UFC 299 will most likely only boost his confidence to even greater heights.

Considering the fact that both O’Malley and Topuria showed interest in fighting one another for a few weeks now, a fight between the two would draw in quite a lot of eyes for the event. But how did the bantamweight champion call out the featherweight champ in his post-fight interview?

“Suga” calling out Ilia Topuria during the post-fight interview of UFC 299

Ilia Topuria and Sean O’Malley had been jawing at each other for quite some time. “Suga’s” win over Vera gave him the perfect opportunity to call out the UFC featherweight champion during the post-fight interview of UFC 299.

During the interview with Joe Rogan, O’Malley stated, “Dana! Gimme a jet to Spain, baby! I’m coming for Ilia Topuria… And if he doesn’t want it, nah, f*ck it, I want Ilia, baby, give me Ilia… He’s a scary f**king dude, he excites me. Going up a weight class excites me. Honestly, I’m here for whatever. If you guys want me to knock out Merab, I’ll do that too, but Ilia is an exciting fight for the people.”
