Brendan Schaub might not have the most glorious MMA career but have built quite a name in comedy and podcasting. He has even worked with Joe Rogan on many occasions. Meanwhile, the 56-year-old UFC color commentator recently made a stunning revelation about Schaub’s struggles with prescribed pain killers after he broke his nose in a fight against MMA legend Mirko Cro Cop.

Mirko Cro Cop was one of the most feared MMA fighters of all time. He had some of the best kicks the sport has ever seen. Cro Cop once fought Brendan Schaub at UFC 128, which he lost. But did not fail to leave a mark on ‘Big Brown’. Let’s see what Joe Rogan had to say about that situation.

Joe Rogan revealed that Brendan Schaub was hooked on pain meds

When Brendan Schaub fought Mirko Crop Cop, his victory over the legend came at the cost of a broken nose. His close friend Joe Rogan claimed that the former UFC fighter’s nose was destroyed. He said, “Brendan Schaub broke his nose in a fight, Cro Cop. He fought Mirko Cro Cop and his nose smashed.”

Joe Rogan further mentioned that the only way for Brendan Schaub to fix that was to go for surgery. And for that surgery, ‘Big Brown’ was prescribed to take pain medication. “He had to get his nose fixed, and they put him on oxys,” said the 56-year-old.

He further stated that Schaub would continue to take his meds even after the surgery was over and done with. Rogan added, “He took the oxy, he got the surgery… his nose was destroyed. Takes the oxys, and just keeps taking them.” However, his friends played a pivotal role in getting him out of that predicament.

Joe Rogan also mentioned that Brendan Schaub could not seem to stop abusing his meds. He continued to consume it even after the healing process of his nose was over. He said, “Long after the healing process, he’s f***ing taking them all day long.” But Schaub’s friends were there at the right time to help him.

The JRE host said that Schaub’s friends decided to come to his house one day, throwing all the medications away. ‘Big Brown’ later also confessed that he was having difficulties trying to stop himself. “Finally, his friends just came to his and took everything away… but it was hard. He said it was f***ing hard,” Rogan added.

Brendan Schaub may have had some bad experiences before, but now he lives a happy, healthy, and successful life. He summed up his MMA career with a 10-5 record but later made it up with his YouTube presence and frequent appearances on the million-dollar ‘Joe Rogan Experience’ podcast.
