Bryce Mitchell has put the past behind him at UFC 310. Thug Nasty’ caught Kron Gracie with a couple of vicious elbows following a thumping body slam to bounce back from his own vicious knockout at the hands of Josh Emmett at UFC 296.

But more importantly, the middleweight star apologized to Joe Rogan for calling him stupid. Mitchell, a flat earther, had long ranted against the UFC commentator two years ago after Rogan claimed that the earth is a sphere.

‘Thug Nasty’ had challenged the UFC commentator to a debate on the subject and cautioned Rogan against ridiculing flat-earthers. “This earth is flat, it’s fixed, and the stars rotate around us, the sun rotates around us. I can prove that! … I would love to debate you Joe Rogan because I’m tired of you making fun of Flat Earthers… I’m just so sick and tired of hearing your c***, Joe, about flat earthers being stupid,” Mitchell said in a rant two years ago.

But after beating Gracie, Mitchell told Rogan in their octagon interview that he wanted to apologize to the comedian “like a man” and clarified that he didn’t think the UFC commentator was actually stupid.

With this fantastic victory, Mitchell can expect good things to come, perhaps a top-ten opponent next. After all, not only did ‘Thug Nasty’ win, but he did so quite convincingly.

Grappling, of course, is Kron Gracie’s strongest suit. But Mitchell was remarkably brave in going to the ground with him. And to be fair, ‘Thug Nasty’ held his own against the BJJ black belt for the most part on the ground.

While he seemed at risk of being submitted towards the end of the second round, Mitchell somehow made his way through, only to surprise everyone in the final round. Mitchell grabbed Gracie as he had throughout the fight, only for the Brazilian-American to lock his legs behind Mitchell, pull guard, and take ‘Thug Nasty’ to the ground as he had throughout the fight.

But this time around, Mitchell had a great idea. He power-bombed Gracie to the ground instead of going down meekly. A sharp and powerful left elbow followed this maneuver, knocking out Gracie, for what many are calling a bonus-worthy performance. What do you think about Bryce Mitchell’s apology to Joe Rogan?
