Los Angeles awoke to three enormous fires encircling the city. The fires in Pacific Palisades, Eaton, and Hurst have burned more than 10,000 hectares and, as of Wednesday afternoon, had caused the death of at least five people. Intermittent water supplies and powerful gusts of wind have complicated the control of the emergency, which has placed 150,000 people under evacuation orders. However, this was all a disaster in the making, as a resurfaced Joe Rogan clip predicted it all happening months ago.
Milana Blackman, an artist, took to Instagram to share a clip of the UFC commentator narrating the story of how a firefighter told him about a massive LA fire that occurred. The UFC commentator said, “I talked to a fireman once; this is one of the reasons that freaked me out. I was talking to this guy, and he was telling me, “Dude, one day, it’s gonna be the right wind, and a fire’s gonna start in the right place, and it’s gonna burn through LA all the way to the ocean, and there’s not a f—–g thing we could do about it. I go, ‘Really?’ He goes, Yeah, we just get lucky with the wind.”
Despite the warning, the government failed to reduce the impact of the flames, as Blackman pointed out in her story by writing, “@joerogan 5 months ago: And here we are. 0% contained as LA fire hydrants are out of water and they are now picking up water from the ocean. Once again if anyone needs help with housing or animals etc, reach out! This is projected to be the most catastrophic wildfire in our country’s history.”

The immense demand for water to fight the fast-moving Palisades fire caused the community’s three water tanks and some hydrants to temporarily dry up in the last 24 hours. This hampered efforts to fight the fire, the Los Angeles Fire Department said. Pacific Palisades, a community of about 27,000 people west of downtown Los Angeles, has mountainous terrain and a high altitude, making it difficult for water to move, as Milana Blackman pointed out in her story.

Water reservoirs help maintain enough pressure to pump water uphill, but when the demand on the system is high, it becomes difficult to maintain that pressure. The water department said it filled all available water storage tanks in Los Angeles before the fire. For a short time, strong winds and smoky skies prevented firefighters from using planes or helicopters to drop water on the fires. However, according to Erik Scott, public information officer for the Los Angeles Fire Department, that problem has now been resolved. Nevertheless, this wasn’t the only harrowing interaction Joe Rogan had with wildfires.
Joe Rogan recounts personal tragic experience involving wildfires
On JRE #2240, Joe Rogan spoke to Quentin Tarantino and Roger Avary about his personal experience with wildfires. The JRE host revealed that back when he was living in Bell Canyon, he had to evacuate his house thrice because of wildfires. He further narrated the same story of the firefighter who warned the UFC commentator of the major catastrophe that put the $1.06 trillion city at risk.

What’s your perspective on:
Did LA officials ignore Joe Rogan's warning, or was this disaster truly unavoidable?
Have an interesting take?
He said, “When I was filming *Fear Factor*, I talked to this guy who was a fireman for the fire department,” before narrating the same story of the firefighter’s dire warning. However, fast forward a few months, and experts in urban water management pointed out that water reservoirs dried up because these systems are not designed to deal with these disasters on the magnitude scale and frequency that is happening.
As a result, Los Angeles officials urged residents to reduce water consumption and issued a 48-hour boil water advisory for a zip code, which includes Palisades and adjacent communities, on Wednesday. But what do you think? Could such a major disaster have been avoided had the officials been more prepared? Or is it something that actually is beyond human control? Let us know in the comments.
