Joe Rogan has been on a roll with his podcast. It all began with him bringing President Donald Trump, and since then, he has delivered fans some top-notch content through guests like Elon Musk, JD Vance, and now, Hollywood actor Josh Brolin. The duo set the mic on fire with their amazing conversations and anecdotes, one of which was about how a famous Hollywood actor decided to risk his life for fun by going to meet the famous mobster, El Chapo.
On Joe Rogan Experience #2232, Josh Brolin talked about the scary reputation of Sean Penn. The two-time Oscar winner is an intimidating figure on the sets; however, according to Josh Brolin, he is an even scarier guy outside of it. Penn made major headlines and raised controversy when he did an interview with El Chapo for Rolling Stone back in 2015. He and the Mexican-American actress Kate del Castillo traveled to meet El Chapo at his mountain hideout in Sinaloa, Mexico. And according to the Avengers movie star, Penn did it all for fun.
Brolin claimed that the ‘Mystic River’ actor might’ve simply been bored when he decided to do the interview. He said, “You just have that thing where you just go, you know what, s**t’s getting boring. The weather’s just too f****** nice here. Weather’s too nice here.” He further added, “Let’s go f*ck some sh*t up. Let’s do something; let’s do something big; let’s do something that’s going to resonate for at least a year.”

However, it might be an act of heroism if Joe Rogan was to be believed. According to the UFC commentator, it was because of Penn that the mobster was caught. He claimed on the podcast that by allowing the interview, Chapo allowed Sean Penn to bring a cell phone to the secret hideout that helped the police find out about the location. “If you’re bringing your f***** cell phone, you’re basically bringing a tracking device to go find one of the most notorious gangsters alive today.”
Well, it surely looks like this little act of fun or heroism might’ve saved many in the future. However, such thrills should be kept limited to the movies rather than performing these stunts in real life. But do you know that Joe Rogan is a thrill seeker himself? So what dangerous tasks does he perform to keep his adrenaline running? Let’s find out.

Joe Rogan admits to his favorite dangerous hobby
During the same podcast episode, both Josh Brolin and the UFC commentator began a conversation about the thrills and dangers in life. So getting candid, the Hollywood actor asked Rogan whether he does something that is dangerous but also gives him the thrill he seeks. “What’s the most dangerous thing you do now? Do you find it necessary to go out and do things that challenge you in a way? Challenge your psyche?”

Well, this truly was a question that made Joe Rogan think before he answered, “elk hunting.” As per the JRE host, elk hunting is a hobby that gives him all the excitement that he seeks. But it surely doesn’t sound that exciting or dangerous. Even Brolin wondered how this was dangerous. To this, Rogan explained the entire experience of elk hunting and why it gives him an adrenaline rush. Rogan said, “No, it’s just really difficult. You know, you’re bow hunting in the mountains, right? And it’s just you in the mountains, and [it’s] just… f***** mountain.”
Well, it looks like Rogan loves this hobby to the core, the reason he would challenge himself by going to the mountains to specifically hunt for it. But what’s the reward apart from all the adrenaline rush? It’s getting to eat what he calls the best meat in the world. “When you eat an elk, you’re eating a super-animal. You eat it, and you feel charged up. It is so delicious; it is super nutritious… it’s the best meat.” What do you think of Joe Rogan’s hobby? Do you find it to be dangerous as well? Let us know in the comments.
