Rogan talked about how sometimes even the undisciplined and wild ones might come out on top, contrary to popular belief. Rogan was of the opinion that in some fields, a ‘wild’ attitude can actually be advantageous.
Joe Rogan labeled Jon Jones as wild, but the best
Rogan shared his thoughts on Jones. He said, “Look at Jon Jones, He’s the wildest motherf***er ever and he’s the best.” He also went on to state why Jones was “the greatest light heavyweight of all time”.
Rogan described, “When he was fighting Daniel Cormier and they were doing the press conference, he said, ‘I beat you when I was on c*ke'”. Jones admitting this despite the USADA being so vigilant was itself proof of his ‘wild’ nature.
‘Bones’ has been out of the Octagon for quite some time now. Andy Stumpf questioned Rogan, “Is he gonna be back?”. Rogan answered, “Yes. He’ll be back. He’ll be back as a heavyweight”. A majority of MMA fans are well aware of Jones’ intense workouts, which he’s been doing to go up to heavyweight.

Rogan also stated that there will be “a lot of exciting challenges for Jones at heavyweight”. Jones, deciding to move up to heavyweight, is a challenge in itself, especially looking at the intense training that he’s going through.
Joe Rogan questions if Jones will have the same cardiac capacity
Talking about Jones’s current state as a heavyweight, the UFC commentator mentioned, “Now he’s put on a lot of weight. … I think he’s like 253 now or 255 now, that’s fu**ing, he’s a big fella.”
Stumpf posed a very relevant question to Rogan. He wanted to know Rogan’s thoughts about whether ‘Bones’ will come back “with the same gas tank?” as before.
Rogan replied, “Honestly, how could have the same gas tank? You don’t see heavyweights operate at the same pace as Welterweights or Lightweights”. He also went on to explain that, “someone like Demetrious Johnson who’s a fuckin’ whirlwind in there He’s only a 125lbs”. But, the same couldn’t be expected with Francis Ngannou. Rogan said, “You don’t see Ngannou fight at that pace”.

Jones’ going up a weight division would involve, a whole new way of using his gas tank as per Rogan, He named some of the one-punch destroyers like Conor McGregor, saying that throwing down with such power and explosiveness would mean that “you are sprinting”.

Whereas, naming fighters like Max Holloway and Diaz, Rogan said, that, “These guys put on the volume” instead of power, which meant “they were running a Marathon”. One can all figure out whose gas tank would last longer.
But the way Jones will choose to use his gas tank upon his return can be documented by none. How soon do you think ‘Bones’ would grace the octagon once more?
