Joe Rogan has been with the UFC for almost two decades now. Rogan’s first appearance was as a backstage interviewer at UFC 12 in 1997. He made his commentary debut in 2002 and has been a notable presence at UFC events since. Hence, it should be no surprise that Rogan was there to witness a lot of notable incidents that happened in the octagon.
Although he does not commentate frequently these days, Rogan follows the sport closely. On a recent episode of his podcast, ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’, Rogan talked about his time as a UFC commentator. Responding to a guest, Rogan listed out some of the wildest incidents he witnessed while commentating for the UFC.

Joe Rogan names the worst injury he’s seen in the UFC
In a recent episode of JRE, Joe Rogan was talking to the CEO of EF Overwatch, Mike Sarraille, and ‘Cleared and Hot’ podcast host Andy Stumpf. The conversation came around to Rogan’s time in the UFC. Andy Stumpf asked Rogan how many fights he had called in the UFC and Rogan responded he had no idea. He also suggested it might have thousands of fights at this point.
He then asked Rogan about the wildest stuff he had seen happen in the cage. Rogan said, “Broken Legs… Shin-on-shins are the worst. Because those guys are never the same again. … No one breaks a leg and is ever the same again… K.Os are rough, but guys have bounced back from K.Os.”
Rogan was on the commentary team for one of the most horrific leg injuries that ever happened in the UFC. He was a first-hand witness to the Conor McGregor and Chris Weidman injuries. Rogan also received flak for interviewing an injured McGregor in the cage after the mishap.

Rogan used the example of Michael Bisping bouncing back after the K. O loss to Dan Henderson. He also talked about how Henderson’s logo is from his fight against Bisping.
Rogan discussed Conor McGregor’s leg break

Joe Rogan gave his theories about what might have caused Conor McGregor’s leg to snap. During a conversation with Andrew Huberman, Rogan detailed McGregor’s injury and quoted John Wayne Parr’s theory of the injury as well. Rogan also referred to McGregor’s coach John Kavanagh’s interview with UFC’s Laura Sanko as well. Kavanagh was of the opinion McGregor picked up the injury during the fight camp.
Rogan pointed out the instances where McGregor’s leg might have taken damage. He pointed out multiple kicks that McGregor threw where his shin might have picked up damage. He used clips from the fight to point out McGregor’s leg looking more and more compromised after some of the strikes he threw.
