Joe Rogan is the UFC world’s favorite podcast host. The 55-year-old attracts over 12 million average listeners for each episode of The Joe Rogan Experience on Spotify. Rogan usually sits across from his celebrity guests and has a conversation about politics, technology, Combat sports, fitness, or any topic that is trending. In a recent episode, the podcast host recollected the infamous slap at the Oscars.

Comedian Chris Rock is apparently doing great since this incident, according to Rogan. The podcast host was still uncomfortable watching the footage of the incident.

Joe Rogan talks about the situation of Chris Rock, post-Oscars.

Stand-up comedian Kurt Metzger joined the #1903 episode of The Joe Rogan Experience podcast. In this episode, Metzger mentioned the famous comedian, Chris Rock, who hosted the Oscars in 2022. Both comedians recalled how Will Smith shockingly slapped Rock in front of the entire audience.

This was understandably a traumatizing experience for Rock.

However, The JRE host stated, “All I’m hearing… about Chris Rock, is that he’s on fire right now!”

“All this, like getting slapped by Will Smith and the academy… I think that lit a fire into that dude.”

Rogan shared that Chris Rock became better at his performances after that incident. Despite the trauma, Rock is going strong and putting out the best of his work.

The JRE host thought Will Smith was going to slap harder

Rogan and Metzger watch the infamous clip of ‘The Oscars Slap’ in the same episode of JRE. Then, the pair decode and analyze what went through each of their minds during this incident. The former Fear Factor host thought Will Smith intended to slap him even harder.

Rogan said, “I think he didn’t hit him hard…” “I don’t think he hit him hard. I think he probably wanted to hit him hard, then realized when he was about to hit him.” After this revelation, Metzger shared how Chris Rock might’ve thought Smith was just being funny. How he thought it was part of the script until the moment he got slapped. Even after the incident, Rock had to remain composed and read his lines to announce the show.

Joe Rogan and Kurt Metzger resented Will Smith’s actions wholeheartedly and sympathized with a fellow comedian’s plight.
