The upcoming 2024 presidential election has been dominating the news recently and Joe Rogan isn’t one to stay quiet about it. On his podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience, Rogan dove into the topic with Mike Baker, a former CIA officer. So, what did they discuss?

While President Joe Biden initially was set to run for re-election, the June 2024 presidential debate raised a lot of concerns about his age and mental ‘sharpness’. Following that, the President withdrew from the elections and endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic Party’s nominee. On his podcast, Rogan pulled no punches, questioning not just President Biden’s cognitive state but also the fact that Harris only recently gave her first interview after becoming a Presidential candidate!

Joe Rogan compares President Biden to a “flashlight with a bad battery” as he questions delay in Kamala Harris’s interview 

During episode no. 2197 of the JRE, Joe Rogan pointed out something curious about Vice President Kamala Harris as he questioned, “Who the f**k has ever done an interview, the only interview since they have been nominated by their party, right. Since they’ve been chosen, who has ever not done an interview for this long?”

Baker added his perspective, suggesting that the media might have played a role in allowing this delay to pass without much scrutiny. However, Rogan quickly pointed out that the situation seemed more complicated than that.  The conversation then turned to President Biden himself. Baker responded by stating, “…people who had daily contact with President Biden and they just lied to the American public for a significantly long-time. They just deceived the American public and nobody seems to give a sh*t”

Rogan and Baker discussed concerns that have been raised about Biden’s mental sharpness. The podcast host, known for his outspoken nature then used an interesting metaphor to describe the uncertainty some feel about Biden’s capabilities. Rogan explained that “Biden being president is like having a flashlight with a bad battery and going for a long walk in the woods. There’s no f**king way it’s going to make it. And people were saying, no, don’t you know he stutters and they were saying all the, well there’s no evidence of him stuttering when he was younger.”

The UFC color commentator noted that everyone, at some point, faces challenges with age, but what’s important is how these challenges are acknowledged and addressed. Joe Rogan and Mike Baker’s discussion served as a reminder that in times of uncertainty, asking questions and seeking clarity is essential. While Rogan has been critical of both Biden and Harris in the past, there was a recent change in his opinion when he complimented the Vice President on another episode of the JRE!

Rogan changes his tune on Kamala Harris’s public speaking skills  

In the JRE episode no. 2188, Joe Rogan hosted stand-up comedian and actor Adam Ray on the podcast and delved into the current political climate, particularly the dynamic between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris. As the conversation unfolded, Rogan didn’t hold back his thoughts. But instead of his usual critiques, Rogan offered something different—praise. What led to this change of tone? The podcast host referred to Kamala Harris’s video where she challenged Trump to a debate. 

An impressed Rogan then exclaimed, “You can’t say that’s not outstanding … She had the big moment and she crushed it. She did it without any ums or stammers, no f****** missed words, she had a smile, the laugh made sense — it made sense there for the first time!”  But Rogan didn’t stop there. He also speculated on what might have led to this noticeable improvement and suggested that Harris might have received coaching, especially after facing criticism for her public speaking in the past. 

As the election draws nearer, the public will undoubtedly continue to watch Harris closely. And voices like Rogan’s will be there to weigh in, no matter which way the wind blows.
