The King of podcasts, Joe Rogan, is a man of multiple talents. The American is a comedian, actor, UFC color commentator, and hosts one of the biggest podcasts, “The Joe Rogan Experience”. With the recent news of F1 driver Sebastian Vettel announcing his retirement, let us look back at when Rogan praised the sport of auto racing and Formula 1.

JRE #818 featured Rogan alongside Mike Schmidt, in which the two discussed diverse topics. In one segment, Rogan spoke about Formula One and applauded the sport of automobile racing. He said, “Auto racing is amazing. I mean, that, to me, is one of the craziest things to dedicate your life to. Those Formula one guys, my god!”

Rogan also mentioned how F1 wasn’t as famous as NASCAR in America. He said, “It’s interesting how that doesn’t really fly over here. But yet we do like fast cars like, why do we like NASCAR, but we don’t like Formula One?”

Recently, F1 legend Sebastian Vettel announced his retirement at the end of the 2022 season. Vettel is a staunch champion, winning four back-to-back championships and dominating the sport between 2010 and 2013 during his time with the Red Bull racing team.

Joe Rogan Talks Ayrton Senna

In one of his earlier podcast episodes, Rogan talked about the documentary based on Brazilian race car champion Ayrton Senna. The 2010 documentary is dubbed “Senna” and features the life of the three-time F1 world champion before his premature death at 34.

Joe Rogan mentioned how this documentary captured “What fine line exists between being the very best and someone who dies in a crash”. He explained how Senna was known for his “spectacular instincts” yet died in a car crash.

After the death of Senna, Formula One changed many of its rules to make the sport safer for all race drivers. Joe Rogan also mentions how Senna was involved in the design of the NSX. There was a special “Senna” version of the NSX, which was slow according to race standards.
