Joe Rogan is one of the most noted faces in the UFC. Rogan is also a trained martial artist and often hosts combat sports personalities as guests on his podcast. On a recent episode of his podcast, ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’, the former martial artist played host to the noted UFC Middleweight fighter, Joaquin Buckley. The duo talked about a variety of stuff, with Buckley presenting his views about the Welterweight division of the UFC.

Buckley went on to explain that the ‘170lbs’ division of the UFC was unable to gain the hype it could actually achieve. He also said that there was no lack of talent in the division. Rogan mentioned the name of the ‘BMF’, Jorge Masvidal, as a talented fighter in the 170lbs division. But Buckley’s words implied that he didn’t necessarily agree with Rogan on this.
Jorge Masvidal was nothing exceptional according to Joaquin Buckley
Buckley explained how promoting themselves as a fighter was also an enormous factor in drawing more crowds to fights. He stated that everybody in the 170lbs division was talented, but “they don’t have a lot of personality that goes within the fight that people wanna actually attach themselves and wanna watch you fight.”
Rogan tried to provide a name of his choice, which, according to him, would fulfill Buckley’s requirements to make the Welterweight division shine. He mentioned, “You know Masvidal. Masvidal is an overwhelming talent”.

But ‘New Mansa’ couldn’t agree with Rogan on this. He stated, “Masvidal, he like no.11 in the world now”. For a moment he accepted Masvidal’s talent saying, “He’s eating”.
But his words, “I feel like Masvidal even being a personality, he’s like ” and the accompanying expressions implied that in his books, Masvidal was far from being rendered a perfect fighter in the 170lbs division. ‘New Mansa’ also stated, “You know like it is what it is”.
Buckley intended to take on Masvidal
At this point, Rogan contradicted Buckley, stating, “Masvidal is still dangerous as f**k”. A lot of MMA fans would actually agree with Rogan on this. After all, calling the man with the fastest knockout in UFC history dangerous isn’t wrong.
But Buckley also held onto his views firmly. He provided a nonchalant reply to the JRE host, stating, “Well, I’ll take that fight. If I get that fight, I’d love that fight.” Rogan lit a ray of hope in the mind of ‘New Mansa’ saying, “You might be able to get that fight.

He made his intentions of fighting ‘Gamebred’ even clearer, as he was apparently pleased after hearing Rogan. He also asked Rogan with some restlessness, “You think so Joe?”

Rogan wasn’t pretty sure about Buckley’s win over Chris Curtis. He said, “If you win with Chris Curtis”
‘New Mansa’ soaringly replied, “I’m gonna knock that fool out”. A lot would actually agree that he would be looking to score a Jorge Masvidal fight if he manages to back his last reply.
